This man got rich off one great hit by Pollard.

At this point I honestly believe he should help that man out...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Matt Cassel is a major reason why I stopped buying tickets from my boy dtebbe to Chiefs games (they were fantastic seats, as well. About seven rows back and a section over from where Blowfish sits). It was the playoff game against the Ravens in January 2011 that did me in. 70 yards passing for the entire game that day. I was done. D-U-N, done. Haven't looked back, either.

That said, I would totally come back reincarnated as Cassel. Never played QB in college, had a few decent to good years as an NFL starter, made the Pro Bowl a time or two, made millions doing it, is a Cali kid, married a smoking hot ex-volleyball player, will likely retire on a beach somewhere. Who wouldn't want to be that guy?
Throw in a concussion or two and some CTE on the side, and you've got a wonderful life!

Yeah, but you get to wake up every day and remember once again you're rich and married to a hottie! She can tell you that as she feeds you tapioca and wipes your butt to get your day started!

I've had at least one concussion, and I didn't get $64m in compensation.

I ain't mad at Cassel, there's been a few free agent QB busts, from Neil O'Donnell and Jeff Garcia to Matt Flynn and Brock Osweiler...but the thing about Cassel's stint is that it's always tied to a HC that didn't want him, Black Sundays/Save Our Chiefs, and a GM more concerned about looking for gum wrappers in between cutting/resigning mediocre safeties/TEs and watching a player commit suicide after murdering his baby momma.

Scott Pioli - inherits a 2-12 team with a #3 overall draft pick...leaves a 2-12 dumpster fire w/a #1 overall pick.

That's what I remember about Matt Cassel.

Well, that and Haley in his ass. And the hat. Oh my, the hat...

I bailed out early.

I watched as friends of mine got scholarships and slowly peeled off the program at different points.

By "the program" I mean NCAA wrestling.

Whatever you think is going on in basketball or football it's 10x that in wrestling...

I know, the NCAA is absolutely unwatchable at any level, it's so obvious - but how else is a poor kid from Anywhere, USA going to get his college paid for? You suit up and play the game.

Literally and figuratively.

Cassel is the smartest human being to ever play football.

he's made a ton of money and has done nothing.
well, that one season. He's parlayed that into probably close to 100 Million?

even punters around the league are like "hey matt...how do I get in on some of that action"?

Amazing how long his career has lasted. How does a crappy quarterback that never started in college make it this long in the NFL??? He was drafted in 2005. This will be his 14th season. How many first round quarterbacks or, to go further, how many top 5 quarterbacks who showed way more ability that Matt Cassel, have had much shorter careers?? I don't get it. There are way better options that Matt Cassel available to be backup quarterbacks.
