Well, to the OP, I tend to agree. With the giant pile of dogshit that Pioli left to the new regime, I'm OK with what they've done to this point to make the team competitive again. Now, are the chiefs superbowl contenders? Not even close. But, a season or two or tweaking, and I can see that becoming a reality. I'm looking forward to some pretty good football this fall.

you want to be optimistic?
fine ill be optmistic here is what to cheer for this season (training camp, preseason and the season media, reports, news bits and games) Pros (cheers!) +All the new draft picks. Eric Fisher didnt do anything to us, neither did Travis Kelce or Harvad man sackmaster in the 7th round. Here's why you cheer for them this season, and hear me out: These guys drafted are most likely coming in to replace a really shitty Scooter picked player or some scrub at a position, and I mean, how in the **** can you argue that. In Fisher's case, you cheer for him over Albert unless you are one of those fans that wants to give Albert 9 million per for the next 5 years and cap strap us from then giving Berry/Houston/actual good players on the team new contracts cause we are paying out the ass for guys like Albert. Keep the money open for when real players command a big day and cheer for Eric Fisher to be better than Albert. Also get back a pick in 2014 that you lost on that god awful Alex Smith trade for the love of **** +Tyler Bray. You cheer for Tyler Bray because he's technically a rookie. He's our rookie QB, no matter if it was the first round or no round, this is the closest thing we have this year to a QB of the future. And I was never on the Stanzi wagon (mainly because Scooter couldnt evaluate draft picks to save his life) but Tyler Bray, does have talent, he had draft grades and was projected as value in some round, he came out early to someones advice that he would be picked, though it was bad advice, the point is at one time the hype was there for this kid and all the draft hype and mocks leading up to it on this forum or elsewhere on the internet prove that. Also he's not Alex Smith or Chase Daniel and that alone should be enough to cheer him on as those two guys are ****ing horrible. Points to consider here: Tennessee had another undrafted player a few years ago named Arian Foster who had similar knocks on him about motivation and the like. Also we have Eric Berry and Dustin Colquitt also from Tennessee, and they both make a ****load of money, they can hopefully show Bray what it takes to get a big contract in the NFL. +Fan favorites. 0-16 or 16-0 there will always be bright spots on this team keep cheering the Derrick Johnsons, Eric Berrys, Brandon Flowers, Bowe Shows, Jamaal Charles, Justin Houstons, Tamba Halis of the world and hope they carry our crappy 30 year old QB to a couple competitive wins on Sunday. +All draft picks of the last four years (2009-2012) losing starting jobs or getting cut. Cheer for competition! Cheer knowing that training camp practices wont be propped up by media hype of Jon Baldwin jumping over Jalil Brown in shorts as a top story anymore. Cheer that guys like Kendrick Lewis and Tony Moeaki and Allen Bailey and Jeff Allen and other terrible picks wont sniff the field and maybe even be cut from this team. Gone are the days of Jalil Brown and Devon Wylie and hopefully Jon Baldwin stinking up the joint. Cheer they are on the inactive lists on Sundays because then that means the talent got better on this team and we got a more competitive product. Cons (dont cheer) Alex Smith. It's going to be ugly and will most likely be a disaster record wise with this guy as QB. There's a very realistic chance he comes back to reality like his first 6 years in the league rather than his last year and half anomaly. He's nearing 30 years old, hes injury prone and hes got a noodle arm. It's going to be painful on Sundays when hes taking 50 sacks or checking off Bowe to the TE or HB dump pass, but it will be worth it in the long run. The quicker this turd is gone the better we are as fans. Scooter Peeoli picks. Dont waste your time hoping Jon Baldwin is finally going to live up to that draft pick slot or Kendrick Lewis will finally square up and make tackle or Jeff Allen will finally be a starting guard or Tony Moeaki was worth trading up for over Jimmy Graham because I have Iowa homervision goggles on. These guys will get beat out by veterans, rookies and all around better players coming in. We will benefit from not falling into the hype of guys who dont produce. Q
It's amazing how many retreaded and repeated threads have been created in the past 2 to 3 months-doesn't anybody search anymore or does everyone think ALL their ideas and thoughts are original??? This entire forum could be merged into 50 good threads and cover all the topics-getting ridiculous http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=271150
