If that’s the Ford we get all year, Jones continues to ascend, Houston is up to snuff, and you get a little here and there from other guys... the pass rush can be formidable enough I think. Especially if they’re playing with leads.

Then you have to hope Berry comes back on the back end and Fuller and Nelson combine to be a solid to good duo.

Idk, I know I’m looking for any and all positives but I don’t think it’s crazy to think the defense can be ‘good enough’ this year.

So far, Fuller and Nelson aren't even solid.

Our pass rush isn't good at all right now and i have no idea what we are going to do with our secondary.

Ford has always been a guy that gets a lot of pressures. I don’t think that has much to do with it being his contract year. He is doing better against the run, now as well.

Hopefully he can shake the injury bug and put together a few years of consistency, but the truth is you need to trust the trend/pattern that has already been established to continue when dealing out big contracts and the story on Ford is he can’t stay healthy and has chronic back problems, among other concerns.

He looked like a different guy in camp and that showed up in the first 3 games...I’m pulling for him to put it all together.

He’s a good dude.

I liked the pick and I like the guy. He's weird, but more in an offbeat sort of way.

But man I'd have a hard time paying him. He's injured AGAIN and he's just not quite as young as we think he is.

On a cheapish 1-2 year deal, sure. But he's a pass rusher in a league awash in cap space. He gwon get paid. I just don't think we can be the ones to do it.

I’d franchise him if he sustains the production and stays healthy.

He plays the 2nd most important position. It’s hard to just let him walk if he’s playing at this level. But a long term deal, I’m out on.

Completely agree. Availability is the key. Hopefully KC has learned there lesson with big paydays for oft-injured players.

Dee’s first step is elite. His ability to bend around the edge isn’t far behind (which is the issue with Houston in my opinion...doesn’t trust something in his body). Hopefully he can get and stay healthy.
