I don't know much about RCA's quality, but $299 is a good price for any 42" plasma.

I have a Sharp Aquos 60" LED LCD. I love it. I think it was 1,900 when I got it right during the 3D craze, or the beginning of it. There was an issue with it and they replaced it. Problem was they didn't have any of my kind left so they replaced it with a version two higher(about 3,500). Lucky me. Anyway, the current one is awesome but so is the original. The only difference is the clouding. My current one has zero clouding anywhere.
