Chiefs Alternate History Madden Franchise: Can Joe Montana take KC back to the SB?

Return of Mals: Joe Montana Edition

Downloaded a 1993 NFL Roster updated for Madden 17 last night.

All teams and players are edited to reflect their 1993 counterparts. Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Warren Moon and JOE MONTANA are all on this roster along with every other starter AND backup from 1993. This roster is so accurate it has Andre Ware on the Lions. Titans serve as the Oilers, Texans and Jags are full of generic assholes.

Chiefs have Joe, Marcus, DT, Smith, Carter, etc. Whoever did this is a genious and even got the player equipment right. Faces are computer-generated and coaches are wrong, but can't have everything.

The goal: get the Chiefs back in the SB with Montana at starting QB. Franchise will run until Joe retires. Not allowed to switch QBs.

LET'S DO THIS!

How did Denver have three timeouts left, take a sack with 15 seconds left, and not use one?

You also need to up the difficulty rating and change the sliders, because the defensive AI against you is god awful.

It's on All Madden, bud. It's not getting harder. There's no slider for "computer coaching decisions" unfortunately. The sliders are quite realistic, I got dominated in the running game and narrowly avoided four or five sacks against an elite Dallas front seven, whilst owning Denver's terrible secondary.

I used my Montana Magic.

We will see. I'm now committed to this for at least another offseason, because I'm having too much fun. Especially with my new clutch kicker, Lin Elitealot.

Things I've learned about the 93-94 Chiefs I never knew doing this:

WR Eric Martin was a hugely disappointing free agent acquisition. The Chiefs probably would have won that playoff game against Miami if he hadn't been such a POS.

Birden and Davis really did have shitty ****ing hands. If their hands had been 10% better the Chiefs might have hoisted a Lombardi.

Dave Adolph ****ing sucked. He was blessed with the best combination of late 80s/early 90s Chiefs defenders and managed to make them look like Vermeil's Chiefs in the biggest games.

Montana probably would have been a walking cadaver in 1995, but I bet he was more frustrated with Marty and the haphazard collection of offensive talent around him than his own body, not to mention the kicker that shall go unnamed.

Lol at the people bitching about sliders and shit. It's just how the game is, you'll never get it perfect. All Madden is actually very hard to win on.

The Chiefs bid a tearful farewell to halfbacks Marcus Allen and Eric Dickerson.

But it's all good, because...

Spoiler!

Notable retirements:

Quote:

Top free agents:

Quote:
QB Jim Kelly
HB Chris Warren

TE Jay Novacek
C Frank Winters
OT Siupeli Malamala
DT CHESTER MCGLOCKTON

It looks like the Chiefs will be going after a halfback in the draft. Will they get lucky and pick Ki-Jana Carter or Rashaan Salaam? Terrell Davis is somewhere out there in the late rounds.

I just signed Deion, Mark Collins and Ted Washington last offseason.

I have almost no cap room, I'm set on defense, and Kevin Greene is horrible in coverage.

A familiar face may be joining the team, though.
