Let's talk about Dinny's new phone!

Don't care about internet GBs. Want to take good low-light videos & pics with a good mic w/overload protect with lots of storage space.

You know, for like, band stuff.

And I want the texts I receive to not be a bunch of gobbledy-gook.

Hate .MOV files. Want Microsoft friendly? Or what?

The Verizon store has a commercial running on TV that says $465 off an Android. But that might be moot/fine print.

I ain't skeered of technology. I can learn anything I want. Except brain surgery or fly a helicopter.

But I digress.

I'm kind of anti-Apple due to my days as a certified Microsoft geek.

Still have yet to dip a toe. That woman been too sick to leave the house lately, so still wanderin' around behind the little animals.

Either phones are fine these days. Go to the store and try them out. Find one that fits for you. Don't be afraid to play with it for 15 minutes.

I pay $45 for unlimited talk/text/2GB/Insurance. No contract, just pay monthly and you can set up auto renewal and forget about it. I believe they run off ATT's network. No issues. Can bring your own phone or get one of theirs. I got the iPhone 5SE for like $250 straight up. Cracked my screen, fixed no problem with $50 deductible.

No issues what so ever. They were recommended by someone else on here. And you get 8GB up front. Metering starts after you've used that up.

My wife finally had to give up her flip phone a year ago when the network would no longer support it. She was adamant that it was all she needed and she didn't need internet on her phone. she dipped her toe in the smart phone waters with a $70 LG Treasure from Walmart on a Straight Talk plan.

She went from "I don't need internet on my phone" to using it all the time (partly because she works for a school and a lot of their systems are app based now). The phone turned out to be a piece of shit though, so last Black Friday, I picked up a $150 Galaxy S6 for her and she has been pretty happy with it. It seems to have a nice camera but I'm no expert with that.

My employer provides my phone and I've had an iPhone 7 for a while now. The phone is pretty nice (and it's bigger than my previous 4S which is very appreciated by my older eyes) but I am not super impressed with the camera.

Not only has it launched an entire generation of narcissist weirdos who can’t walk two steps without taking a selfie, the rest of us, who don’t give a shit about your Instagram and Twitter, your meal, your outfit, your “bestie”, your car selfie, etc., are bombarded by your stupid shit, including videos.
