Never shared this here before but seeing that some of of us are degenerate gamblers here's a game some friends of mine host each year if you're possibly interested in starting one.

64 owners @ $100 per entry

Put all team names in a cap,bowl etc. for drawing and all owners names in another,yes someone will get the play-in-games but announce as such as drawing should take place the Monday before the tourney and contest starts on Thursday.Draw one owner name and then one team.

Contest is based on point spread,they use the closing line on scoresandodds.com.If say

is favored by 7 that owner must cover (win by 8 or more) to move on.A push (exactly 7 or not covering) means the owner of the underdog now owns

and moves on.An outright upset of course and the underdog moves on as well.

Payouts are as follows

1st=$2500

2nd=$1000

3-4=$575

5-8=$250

9-16=$50

17-64=thanks for playing.

Based on this formula there will be $350 left that goes to the person running the event.

I never understood why people running the event take a cut. I don't do those pools, ever.

My friends that host this one set up a bracket via e-mail and have to check the closing lines etc. so I don't have a problem with it.$350 may be a little much but wth at least someone is willing to do it.

That's the one great thing about this game if Kentucky is a 20 point favorite and they win by say 19,the underdog takes ownership.

hehe, I help a buddy manage one he runs for charity, though you bid on teams. Last year the pot was $46k.

Interesting,I have a board meeting tonight for my local charity.Do you know how much the winnings vs. charity donation is?

he keeps 15% as the vig, the rest goes to the pot.

Last year IIRC Kentucky went for 5k

I have my friends spreadsheet I was just curious how much people could win vs how much the charity got.

Random drawing,last year I got Dayton and rode them to the elite 8 against Florida who was a 10 point favorite,Florida won by exactly 10 and I then got Florida.Ended up getting $575

So to be clear, this is random, luck of the draw and you wouldn't have to know much about NCAA BB to have an equal chance as someone who watched 100 games this season?
