It's a lot like Outlast with the cat and mouse style but you do actually get weapons and this is a nice crafting system -- mostly for noise distractions and stuff. The alien is also animated absolutely beautifully. Game is quite long and well worth it if you have ANY interest in Alien or horror games.

I was originally going to chuck it down the drain when I was playing it for an hour and had no idea where to go and what to do. It reminded me a little of Fallout and I am not a fan of that particular franchise. However, I took a break and went back, (which I always do with games that piss me off) and gave it a second chance. It's the most fluid, intelligent game I e played in a long time. It does have some serious 'shit your pants' moments and I'm glad I stuck with it. Watchdogs is an example of a game I gave hours to and wish I hadn't. Lol Alien is worth the effort. |

There's so much to do. Actually, there's a little too much to do. You can't go fifty steps in any direction without a task, especially when Ubisoft is up and running. I played some multiplayer the other day. It was ****ing cool except one of the guys playing kept running right into battle as opposed to stealth. Pissed me off a little. |

how do the Assassin Creeds of late differ from the first installment. I owned the first one when it came out long ago, and got tired of it very very quickly. it was very very repetitive, and I felt like the only thing I was actually doing was running around in game, not really 'doing' anything.

I thought AC was easily the worst one. Like, it isn't even close. That game blew dicks and if I hadn't bought AC II and AC: Brotherhood at the same time I likely would never even have finished the series.
All of them get kind of repetitive, but nowhere near as bad as the first. That one had no flavor, no flash, pizzazz! Even Altair, the main character, was such a bore. I thought AC: Brotherhood and AC: Revelations were the best, for what it's worth. |

It's probably the best horror game recently released. Much better than The Evil Within. That ****ing thing pissed me off. Btw, are you on PS4? |

So I just got EA access to get a discount on Dragon Age and it gave me access to a bunch of EA games. I'd never played FIFA before and I just played a couple of games of FIFA 14. That game is ****ing hard!

I'm on Xbox one.
EA access should also let you play 6 hours of dragon age right now.

Assassins Creed - Unity PS4
My eyes are bloodshot, my thumbs a sore and I haven't eaten in two days.
I think I can speak French now. That's a plus, chicks dig that. Anyway... Let's get to it. This ****ing game had more glitches on release day than anything I've ever seen. It was so bad that Ubisoft shut down their "uplay" bullshit and all multiplayer was out for 24 hrs. I was running around France in the late 1700's and marveling at the crowds, the musicians, street performers etc but then they'd just disappear, change genders and clothes, weird shit like that. However, I've noticed the glitches have decreased quite a bit. Let's get into it a bit now. The story centers around an assassin named Arno with the worst luck ever... His dad is killed when he's 10, his adopted dad was killed when he was 19 and his girlfriend/adopted sister blames him. He gets locked up in the Bastille where he learns the assassins have been watching him and his father held a high ranking position with the organization. Arno joins the assassins to learn more about his lineage and the most boring storyline unfolds therein. A real snorefest, really. Try try to get you interested but fail miserably. What makes up for it is the secondary storyline regarding the revolution. The crowds are fired up, pissed off and ready to behead some ****ers. It's your job to spark the french pussies with their pitchforks and baguettes. Graphics: The graphics are some of the best you'll see on next gen. The city is beautiful and the interiors of some of the buildings are so amazingly detailed I literally stood in some of the buildings for minutes marveling at it. HOWEVER, some of the areas are very much last gen. Vague, non-detailed and boring. I have no doubt that there's so much detail within the game that something had to suffer. When you're walking around the city, you'll notice what I mean. AI: Paris is alive in this game. Hundreds of thousands of people, cats, birds, dogs, pigs etc. Just absolutely amazing and I am not wow'd very easily when it comes to AI. I could damn near hear the console groaning and creaking under the immense weight of the game. The franchise has improved on this in ways I never expected. You can listen in on thousands of conversations. Gameplay: We've all bitched and moaned about the same old boring mechanics.... Every fight is exactly the same in past AC games. Block, attack, smoke bomb, rinse and repeat. Well, it's improved a bit. A BIT... Different enemies have different difficulty levels and they'll take your ass down if you are not careful. You can use pistols, rifles, two handed weapons, swords, a new arm dagger thingy that shoots blades etc. Smoke bombs, cherry bombs, poison gas, flashbangs and grenades are all available. The climbing mechanics are much more realistic as well. You can now climb down a building! Holy shit, right? There are hundreds of missions, btw. The main story and several secondary missions. The multiplayer is a big part of the game and I highly recommend it. More on that shortly. The character customization is awesome. Several different outfit combinations and several different colors. You can dress him up in Chiefs red or pimp purple. Some cool shit there. Multiplayer: When Ubisoft went online yesterday, I tried it for the first time. It worked perfectly. You can't talk to the other players but Its not really needed. You can play missions with up to four total players and each mission has its own difficulty level. It's very cool to team up and complete an assassination together. The players I've played with so far have all been pretty decent. One guy kept going all Rambo and getting killed so I let him die and completed the mission myself. Lol I can certainly go on and on here about this game. There's a lot to it and I can see the average gamer getting a month or two of good gameplay out of it. It's that immense. Yes, it's best in short doses, IMO. A few hours here and there because it can get frustrating. In closing...yes, it's another AC game with many of the same AC style missions however, it's the new flagship of the franchise. If you plan on picking this one up, wait a few weeks for the bugs to get totally worked out. I'll score this a little differently then average it out: Graphics: 8.5 Gameplay: 9 Storyline: 6.5 Multiplayer: 9.5 AI: 9 Total average: 8.5 |

I need something here guys... Gimme the info on the new Farcry? I've heard good things and then I've read here that it's just the same old shit.
I was not a fan of the series. I prefer 3rd person style games but 1st person can grow on me. BTW, GTAV Next Gen review coming soon. |
