Chiefs Trade G Rishaw Johnson to Buccaneers for S Kelcie McCray

Buccaneers HC Lovie Smith announced Thursday that they have traded S Kelcie McCray to the Chiefs in return for G Rishaw Johnson, per the Pewter Report.

Johnson, 25, signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of California University of Pennsylvania. he was reportedly competing with rookie Zach Fulton for the Chiefs right guard position.

There is no question the Buccaneers could use some extra depth at guard, which appears to be one of their biggest issues on their current roster.

Maybe I don't remember right, but wasn't Rishaw okay at least? I know diddly about the free safety they traded for, but with the showing of the Chiefs offensive line so far, is the secondary even worse that they'd trade away a guard in hopes of bolstering their depth at safety? I'm starting to feel a bit a'skeered.

I bet Johnson wasn't going to make the roster. This trade is basically the same as the Baldwin/Jenkins trade....just with undrafted FAs instead of 1st round picks.
