Chargers Announce 4 Year Deal w/Melvin Ingram
---- If Dee Ford has 10 sacks the next two seasons, he's probably looking at a $75-80 million dollar deal, minimum. |

I'd take that over Houston's deal any day.

It'll be interesting to see what Dorsey does on Ford. Will they take the Fisher approach and try to extend him this offseason, or will he take a chance on himself?
Money isn't going to be a huge problem for KC like it is right now once some expensive contracts are dumped next offseason. I won't be upset if Ford gets this deal. |

He's not worth that much probably, but this is just how it works. The inflation continues. Every good QB gets paid more than the last guy before him, and that is generally what we can expect at every position.
If Melvin Ingram is worth 66M/4yrs, then Dee Ford is a good season away from being able to make that and perhaps more. |

Houston needs to produce all year long if he wants to stick around, as starting next offseason there can be money gained from his release. Also, after Maclin's release, I think every player should realize that they are not safe unless they meet their value. I really hope he can be the 2014/early 2015 version of himself for a few more years here. |

It's a good problem to have, overall. If they want to keep Ford, they easily can, but Dorsey's exceptional drafting the past few years makes it very tough. Other good young players factor into the equation.
I think they can keep whoever they want, though, as the message was heard loud and clear with Maclin's release: no one is safe. If Ford earns a big pay day and someone else already getting paid doesn't play up to their salary, they will be cut. |
