NFL.com: Maclin likely to disappoint
If Q, please delete.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ppoint-in-2015 6. Jeremy Maclin, Chiefs receiver After setting career highs with 85 catches and 1,318 receiving yards last season, Maclin shifts from Chip Kelly's high-flying attack to Kansas City. He'll struggle to repeat that production against a steady diet of top corners and double teams in 2015. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will generate attention, but opponents aren't going to move off Maclin for the rest of that wideout group. While he's a massive upgrade at the position, K.C.'s conservative, run-heavy playbook makes the former Eagle a fantasy risk. |

Once again, the Smith detractors look stupid.

I also predicted Alex Smith would get 4000 total yards and around 25 TDs...and was laughed at.
He ended with 3984 yards and 22 TDs. |

How has this along with their 2015 stat lines not become someone's signature yet?

Pretty damn close Marcellus. I'll give you the difference with the game Mac missed due to concussion.

My post isn't to say that the poster was wrong, it was to point out the gist that he would have a respectable to good season was spot on. |

True, Alex Smith missed a few deep ones, but the statement of the guy you quoted was if we got a #2 WR. We have a collection of receivers who amount in total to a #2 WR, but no one who stands out yet. If we had that, Maclin would have gotten the 1300 yards even with Smith's overthrows (assuming 16 games). That's just 8.7 yards more per game.

And we'd have won that game, in my opinion... though had we won that game, would we have won the Minnesota game, too, but then not win all of the ten remaining... hmm....

That's tough to say. We don't have an amazing #2 WR, although I'd argue Wilson fills out his role here pretty well, but Kelce is our #2 option in this offense. Smith seems to like Maclin more than I could have imagined. He's been force-feeding him at the expense of targets for Kelce. If we had a better #2 WR Maclin's production could easily go down. |

The only way I see anybody laughing at that prediction is if they thought you meant passing numbers. Otherwise you were just predicting numbers in line with what he did in 2013 and 14 (remember only 15 games last year...). Not exactly going out on a limb there.

If he meant total yards, kudos to him. I just don't believe it. |
