6. Jeremy Maclin, Chiefs receiver

After setting career highs with 85 catches and 1,318 receiving yards last season, Maclin shifts from Chip Kelly's high-flying attack to Kansas City. He'll struggle to repeat that production against a steady diet of top corners and double teams in 2015. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will generate attention, but opponents aren't going to move off Maclin for the rest of that wideout group. While he's a massive upgrade at the position, K.C.'s conservative, run-heavy playbook makes the former Eagle a fantasy risk.

In the grand scheme of things he may not actually be much better than Bowe, but Maclin is just a better fit for this offensive scheme and based on our quarterback's tendencies.

Bowe is a guy that doesn't get much separation, and he requires a QB to throw him the ball basically whether he is wide open or not. Alex Smith (like it or not we are stuck with him for the time being) is risk adverse. He prefers situations with separation and shorter passes.Again, this is not Bowe's strengths. Smith does not throw into many jump ball situations where Bowe is more likely to excel compared to his WR peers. Bowe is better with QBs who don't survey the field and just force feed him the ball like Matt Cassel.

Also, Maclin is agile, much more so than Bowe. Andy Reid likes short, quick ball-controlled passes that favor a quicker and more agile receiver who can cut and change directions better. In Reid's offense, you see more quick-slant, square-in and drag routes. So a receiver's ability to run precise, crisp routes and creating separation in small space is more important than straight-line speed or jump-ball ability.

Maclin averaged 9 YPC on passes thrown <10 yards last year. Might be a problem.

I don't think that anyone should realistically expect Maclin to duplicate his numbers from 2014. But, he is a massive upgrade over Bowe and should be able to provide a minimum of 5 TD's and 1,000 yards per season.

That's all I really expect of him. If he exceed those numbers, awesome.

The best targets per game by a WR with Alex at QB was 7.67 by M. Crabtree in 2011. Maclin's career best catch/target ratio is 65.6% in 2011 and best yards/target is 9.22 in 2014 . If the stars align for Maclin/Alex, Maclin gets 123 targets, 80 catches, 1134 yards and 8 TDs.

Thats actually a really good read from a guy who apparently has more than a passing knowledge of the Chiefs and their fans.

I bet he improves on that number next year. You could see him and Alex getting into a groove as the season went on
