With Benjamin, Chiefs win HFA

Alex Smith has elevated the play of his receivers. I firmly believe if the Cheifs organization would have drafted any of the many WR's available this draft, the Chiefs go 13-3 this season. Imagine a WR 1/2 like Benjamin lined up alongside Bowe, there is no way Chiefs lose tonight if they had another receiver. Alex Smith deserved his contract, get him some receivers!

Alex Smith can't find his open receivers... I'm all for getting better receivers, but when a QB can't consistently find open guys, that's on him.

It's insanely hard for an O-line to block when the defense is pinning their ears back full pass rush. I expected him to see some heat. He has to deal with the heat.

Our pass rush does the same thing to the opposition often.

Does KC need better offensive lineman? YES.

Does KC need better receivers? YES.

Does KC need Alex Smith to play better, i.e. not play like a ****ing pussy? YES.

I keep thinking about that last play of the game. Smith really forced a bad ball with little to no pressure there. I mean, I got up and said "Where the **** are you throwing the ball to Smith?" I was left perplexed. I refuse to excuse Smith from the suck club right now. He's sucking as much as the receivers and most of the O-line.

It's simple reerun. Hammond was supposed to run a comeback route at the sticks. He never completed his route and showed us all why he doesn't start over AJ Jenkins. The ball fell beyond the marker and would have been completed for a 1st if they had a competent route runner out there. That's all there was to that play.

When they're our speedy, but not all that tall, all-pro RB?

Stopped reading right here. When has Alex "elevated the play of his receivers?"

Care to cite ONE example? And even if you CAN name one random example (which I doubt you can do), that doesn't prove a damn thing.

reerun? Good job with the insult, I'm sure you're proud of yourself for that one. You macho internet presence you.

As for the route, I have no idea what route Hammond was "supposed" to run, and unless someone within the organization says "Hammond was supposed to run a comeback route," neither do you.

Does it "look" like Hammond probably should have been running a comeback based on where the ball was thrown, yeah it does. It could have equally been on Smith, who expected the wrong route. It could have also been another short-armed pass by Smith, of which he threw several tonight.

Go watch that play again, Hammond clearly ran a terrible route and made absolutely no effort to come back to the ball. Guarantee you that had it been Avery or Bowe, that's a 1st down completion.

I don't have DVR or I would. If you get a gif send it to me or something. I would like to see it. Would also love to see the force pass to Kelce from another angle where it looked like Hammond was wide open for a 20 yard gain underneath.

You can say we should've gone after one of the stud receivers in this year's draft, but there's simply no replacing the way Dee Ford cheers on the team from the sidelines.

benjamin would have like 100 yards here at the most... you can divide the number of snaps hes played by like 8 due to reid being to dumb to play him(playbook excuse maybe). then you can eliminate a lot more yards due to his main strength being catching 50/50 balls downfield, and smith not throwing either downfield or 50/50 balls. yep benjamin would be a nobody here.

oh, and theres still the issue of our offensive line not being able to block long enough for benjamin to run 10 yards down the field.

Forced pass to Kelce who was beyond the 1st down marker and had a good chance to come up with it but failed to?

Hammond was open on a dump off underneath and, for all we know, would have been tackled short of the 1st down.

You guys bag on Smith all of the time for not throwing beyond the 1st down marker. He throws it to one of his most trusted targets and it isn't complete; now Smith sucks because he took a shot for the sure 1st down to one of his only true receiver threats instead of trusting Frankie Hammond, who isn't exactly Mr. Sure-handed, to come up with the catch at full speed and get the 1st down with his legs?
