Toying with trading out of the 1st.

So I got this idea recently from WF, who projected two trades for the Chiefs where they trade from the 23rd overall spot, to the 33rd overall spot.

In return, the Chiefs land an extra third (from Carolina), and an extra 5th and 6th (from Houston).

If that were in fact the case, we would have:

2
3a
3b
4
5a
5b
6a
6b
6c

So using the existing 7 round mock from DraftTek as a rough outline (I can reach down or up several selections if I so choose), here are the players I'd select.

Would you take that deal? And who would you select?

Here's how I'd project the Chiefs would go:

2.33. OG Xavier Su'a-Filo, UCLA
3.87. WR Donte Moncrief, Mississippi
3.92. CB Pierre Desir, Lindenwood
4.124. DT Daniel McCullers, Tennessee
5.141. OT Cameron Fleming, Stanford
5.163. TE Xavier Grimble, UCLA
6.177. DE George Uko, USC
6.193. WR T.J. Jones, Notre Dame
6.204. RB Devonte Freeman, Florida State

Thoughts?

What's the approximate value of a 2015 first rounder?

You're probably looking at maybe getting into the 2nd round....not a super high 2nd rounder though.

Demarcus Lawrence is a top 40 pick easy and I severely doubt brooks lasts that long. He's a early 3rd at worst. Probably 2nd round with this weak safety class.

**** yes.

That instantly adds depth and talent to the defense, gives us a 3rd QB allowing us to cut Daniel and adds a couple of talented WRs to this offense. T.J. Jones is a damn good slot WR and Latimer gives you the size and upside to be a damn good WR next to Bowe.

The only positions I didn't fill in that draft were offensive line and tight end. If we traded down and got those picks though...I wouldn't be super upset if they spent 1 or 2 mid rounders on those positions.

I went off the Drafttek mock draft....not where I think they're going to go.

What ammo would it take to get a top half pick in this year's second... or a second rounder and an additional mid rounder this year?

There's a guy over on the DraftCountdown forums that had Houston trading with Kansas City for their 2nd, 3rd and 5th rounders. Houston took Bortles at #23 BTW.

http://draftcountdown.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58839

This is who he drafted for the Chiefs.

2nd. FS Jimmy Ward
3rd. WR Martavis Bryant
3rd. ILB Shayne Skov
4th. OT Michael Schofield
5th. WR Jeff Janis
5th. OLB Howard Jones
6th. CB Aaron Colvin
6th. WR/RS Jalen Saunders

It's all about finding a team to trade with. It's going to be hard to trade with teams with next years picks. This draft is pretty deep for a team to be dumping picks this year for next year. Maybe a team like San Francisco, who doesn't have a ton of holes...but has a shit ton of picks.

That would just be aggravating as **** to get the second rounder back for Alex Smith by giving up a 1st.

Seriously... How the hell did Dorsey not find a way to not get screwed by the fact Baalke/Harbaugh knew Reid would want Smith.

Technically, we'd get a 2nd + another pick or two from them, if we gave them our 1st.

Its not like we would be giving them our '13-2nd + '14-1st for Alex, as your post makes it sound like.
