Not much in the state of Missouri recruiting wise those years. Big reason the Valley took a nose dive.

Had some big time near gets that would have changed the program big time. The class he took to Tennessee - 3 of those were going to be Bears. Josh Richardson, Wes Washburn, and Derrick Chevious's son. That would have been a Wichita State type run class. Had a damn good recruiter in Kansas City with former Jayhawk Steve Woodberry. He will probably be a favorite for our next head coach, he followed Danny Manning to Tulsa and Wake. Had Alec Burks as a Bear until Colorado came calling.

They were on a lot of talented players just that at the MVC level it's hard to keep them locked down. No surprise what he is doing at Missouri recruiting wise. Perfect fit for him.

I doubt anybody plays 35 minutes on either side. Jontay Porter certainly won't (and I'd be fairly shocked if he plays 35 minutes in a regulation game this year).

Jontay will get about the 4th most minutes of the Mizzou freshmen.

Newman's year off was that big for his development, huh? He was mediocre at Miss State as a freshman.
