****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

Hoping we hold onto him, but that's going to be some stiff competition for a Michigan kid.
Kid got his Michigan offer last week. They are not a real concern. ND is actually closer to his hometown.

I think we are good.

From a poster at PowerMizzou:

Brian Wallace is the #1 priority for the staff right now. Rod Johnson is not coming here and staff probably wouldn't take him at this point - they simply don't have him as highly rated as others. Braden Smith told us no this morning - he wants to get away from his parents and be on his own. Markel Smith was told no because they are making a big push for Dalvin Warmack and the new name 4-star from Louisiana, Darrel Williams. Staff is very high on Prewett, the K-State Commit and making a big push for him as well.

Too bad about Braden Smith, but considering the other offers he has, not surprising.

Hope he doesn't go to another SEC team.

I'm not disputing anything he said, but he isn't a poster known for having any kind of inside information. Just FYI...

Wallace's offer list is ridiculous. It wouldn't surprise me to see him get bumped up to a 4*.

I've always been more intrigued by a guys offer sheet than I am the Rivals ratings.

When he's getting looks from ND and Michigan, he's probably a pretty damn nice recruit.

And again, the problem has never been the 3 stars in a vacuum, it's been that we're also dredging up guys that nobody's after; 2 star type guys and that we were losing a hell of a lot more recruiting fights than we were winning for higher ceiling guys.

I'll say it again, the shitty fans were the ones that weren't alarmed by the performance of this staff through September. There was absolutely nothing going right for the program to that point.

Time for Cornell Ford to earn his pay, eh?

One start over 50% completion percentage. One. I don't know how you could look at Mauk's stat line or his play on the field and say that he's a better option than Franklin. It's nice that he threw a lot of TDs against a god awful Kentucky team, but those scores were almost all DGB just out-athleting the corner for jump balls.
^^^^^^^^^^

And it's not close.
