Alex Smith is the AFC offensive player of the week.

Well deserved.

Alex Smith Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week
Matt McMullen
Posted 15 minutes ago

Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Alex Smith was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 1, the NFL announced on Wednesday.

Smith put together one of the best games of his career in Kansas City’s season-opening victory over the New England Patriots, completing 28 of 35 passes for 368 yards and four touchdowns.

His 148.6 passer rating was the best of any signal caller on the week, and ranked as the fourth-best mark of his career. Smith’s 368 yards passing led the NFL and his four touchdowns matched for the league-lead.

Smith’s performance marked just the second time an opposing quarterback threw for 300-plus yards, four-plus touchdowns and no interceptions against Patriots’ Head Coach Bill Belichick.

Smith and the Chiefs will return to the field on Sunday for Kansas City’s home opener against the Philadelphia Eagles at Arrowhead Stadium.

I think he should get NFL rookie of the week...

Who would be his main competition for that? TJ Watt? I think that kid set a record himself.

And I think Kareem deserves it over Alex...kid set a record.
I was waiting for that to be noticed... and yes Alex11 didn't deserve it as much as Hunt did. Hunt made Alex11 look good, not the other way around.

Alex is going to need to get a grip on himself after all this attention from first snap on the first set of downs on Sun. 3 and out could be brutal and PMll15 has no idea how ***ing brutal KC Chiefs fans can be.

It's been piled on thick and high this week and, of all people, he remembers
game ones success and the dismal outcome of game 2 last year. Probably better than most can.

The Chiefs (bipolar) fans (<--- ducking) will lay out a different type of accolade upon his ass in the form of boo's. offensive finger and crotch gestures, and some of the finer expletives that will be able to be heard over the TV and radio broadcast as well as on you tube videos.

Lets find out if Alex11 is for real or flash in the pan as for now on his career is only as good as he plays on Sundays. I hope he has his shit together and goes out there and takes no prisoners. 70% passing 350yds 5 td total offense. I'd like to see us set a record for games without a FG. Shut down Santos' contract talks... like in the bud

Maybe Kareen can have another big day and get himself an POTW award too.

Eagles fans are bad ass too...

There was an article on ESPN about building a team with the best players from week 1.. I noticed they choose Bradford over Smith, although they remembered to get Hunt. Which was funny, since Smith beat Bradford in TD's, yards, and QB ratings.

Of course...ESPN ranked KC #13 before the season. Pretty tough torching the Saints defense in your home opener... I'm sure Bradford would have put up 370 in NE.

ESPN is a drama-based website like TMZ...people eat it up for some reason.

Plus, I don't understand the sign. Is cleaning house the tenth priority after the other things are done? Shouldn't that be the first priority, rendering allof the others unnecessary? And what does #10 mean relative to #1 through #9? Is she advocating that other people be fired or replaced? Or is that a note to herself to clean her own house once the Chiefs do all of those things?

Methinks thou besmirch her virgin reputation. I celebrate Christmas but she professes her allegiance to Chirstmas (the Goddess of misspelling and fuzzy logic).

They are no different than him IMO.

They keep the narrative alive as much, if not more so than he does.

He, however, adds quality content and his schtick is entertaining if you're not silly enough to let it bug you.
