Unreal Estate Round 2, Heat 9: MI, AR, RI, OH, DE
Five homes, and you get one. Which one? Take into account all factors, including the home, location, and state/region.

My rankings:
Rhode Island - This house is a sleeper pick. It's got good style, nice size, and it's on 8 acres, which is about half of the state of Rhode Island. You can walk to a few restaurants, and the culture of Boston and Providence are nearby. The only big downside is that there's no open space nearby. Michigan - Clearly an awesome house in a great setting. It's not enormous, but it's big. I can't tell if there are public outdoor areas anywhere near, and the location is somewhat near services but not walkable. I suspect the winters are fierce here, but I could live here. Ohio - Nice house and pretty huge. The location isn't great for a variety of reasons even though the setting of the house itself is nice. Shrug. Delaware - The house is nice, but I find the architecture rather odd. It's a slightly better location than Arkansas with a less good house. Meh. I suspect that Delaware has fewer mosquitoes than Arkansas, which is the differentiator. Arkansas - This may be the largest house remaining in the competition at more than 10,000 square feet. You get a lot of house for your money in Arkansas. It's a huge house in a nice setting, but it's not conveniently located at all. The nearest restaurants aren't inspiring and there's no open space nearby.

i worry about the climate of those northern states. While Arkansas will have cold days in the Winter it also has its fair share of nice sunny days like yesterday in early February. Plus NW Arkansas has a lot of up and coming nice restaurants, plenty of outdoor activities (fishing) with a bunch of outstanding bicycling options.

I really don't know what Rhode Island and Delaware would be like in the winter. Probably a lot colder and more snowy than northern Arkansas, but would winters be bad? I suspect they get less winter than most of the Midwest, but that's just a hunch.

None of these really separate from the pack. My grandparents had a farm in NW Arkansas (near Mountain Home) and my parents retired in that area. It's nice but I don't want to live there.
I'll pick Michigan although I wish there wasn't so much knotty wood.
