Unfortunately, it looks like they're continuing to raise them.

The annual pass is still the best deal.

Yep, they just increased ticket prices at Disneworld in February. Pretty big thread on it at disboards.

Rogue One
Is the First Star Wars Stand-Alone Film, Rian Johnson to Write and Direct Star Wars: Episode VIII

The title for director Gareth Edwards' stand-alone movie, featuring actress Felicity Jones, is revealed, and Rian Johnson is confirmed for Star Wars: Episode VIII -- coming to theaters May 26, 2017.

“Always in motion is the future,” Yoda said. The future of the Star Wars cinematic galaxy, however, is taking shape.

This morning at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, across the street from Lucasfilm, Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger hosted a shareholder meeting where he announced news regarding the first Star Wars stand-alone movie as well as Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Rogue One is the title for the first film in a unique series of big-screen adventures that explores the characters and events beyond the core Star Wars saga. Rogue One will be directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Godzilla) and written by Oscar nominee Chris Weitz (Cinderella, About a Boy, Antz). The first actress cast is Felicity Jones, who garnered an Academy Award nomination and critical acclaim for her performance in The Theory of Everything. The idea for the story of Rogue One came from John Knoll, an Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor and chief creative officer at Industrial Light & Magic. He will executive produce along with Simon Emanuel (The Dark Knight Rises, Fast & Furious 6) and Jason McGatlin (Tintin, War of the Worlds). Kathleen Kennedy and Tony To (Band of Brothers, The Pacific) are on board to produce and John Swartz (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) will co-produce. The film starts shooting this summer in London and is due for release on December 16, 2016.

In addition, Iger confirmed that Rian Johnson will write and direct Star Wars: Episode VIII. The film, which continues the saga after the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is set for release on May 26, 2017 — forty years and a day after the release of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977. Johnson is widely considered one of cinema’s most gifted young filmmakers, having directed the modern sci-fi classic, Looper, as well as Brick and The Brothers Bloom. He was also behind the camera for three episodes of the critically-acclaimed TV series Breaking Bad, including “Ozymandias,” which series creator Vince Gilligan named as the best installment of the show. Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman, producer of Looper, Don Jon, Brick, and The Brothers Bloom, are on board to produce.

This is interesting. No spoilers.

http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/20...s-editing.html

Quote:
1) J.J. does not do first cuts. According to his two editors, he cannot sit through it, so they basically mine through it all, and he comes in periodically to do a sequence here or there and eventually sits down and watches a cut (probably second cut or third cut) once post-production started.

2) He shoots a TON of footage. I think one of the assistant editors said its close to 16+ hours of footage a day.
3) J.J. is somewhat hands-off during editing. He lets the editors go through footage and pick what they think is better.

4) J.J. also when editing likes to have sound as close as final as possible (temp music, etc).

5) Bad Robot used John Williams music editor and Williams’ old music for the temp music since the score has not yet been recorded.

6) J.J (which I think most people know this) never stops working and moving. They said when they get to the first studio screening, they will still be cutting till about 10 – 15 minutes before they export it.

7) They edit in a 5.1 soundtrack mix during post-production. So they make a temp mix, and basically edit the film in 5.1 for the best sounding movie, instead of adding it later.

8) They were shooting with 4 cameras with two separate units at the height of production.

9) During post-production, J.J. more often then not in contact with the actors, and has them re-record lines to send them in to him during editing, and then will replace them later.

10) Right now, they are in the heavy visual effects part of editing, which means they are receiving finished shots, or close to finished shots and sending them back to ILM for screenings, which occur 3 or 4 times a week.

11) The editors are the keepers of ALL of the footage. So marketing-wise, they have to go through editorial to get what they want. The only place that has the full movie, shot-for-shot, is at Bad Robot in LA. All footage that is released to other editors for trailers and TV spots are watermarked and prepped in a certain way so it won’t be leaked.

12) If there are any major “potholes” that need to be filled, the editors tell J.J. (sometimes multiple times). In the past, they have shot little scenes or inserts as late as 3 weeks before the picture was locked.

13) Something I found to be really unique: The editors basically split the movie in half. So one day, one editor might focus on dialogue and drama scenes, the other action and much longer “big” sequences. They trade off every day.

14) They were editing in a trailer while they were shooting on stages at Pinewood, when production was at its height.

No wonder his feature films have such crap scores.

Do you think he has the balls to tell John Williams what NOT to write?

Yeah, I do.

It happens all the time. Directors fall in love with the Temp Score, composers get pissed, then are either fired or quit. I'm talking big time composers like the Newman's, John Ottman, John Powell, Howard Shore, etc. and so on.

Some directors want a temp score and others don't. Temp scores work for directors that aren't good with music score, so they trust their music supervisors and music editors.

But to put a temp score in a John Williams scored film is just ridiculous, IMO, because what happens then is that John will be expected to score it with the same rhythm, tempo, instrumentation and feel as the temp score, whereas he might have scored the scene completely different and of course, completely awesome.

I think this is a recipe for disaster.
