IMO - There were things Abrams could have easily done to avoid the leak or at least make it less believable. (Can't talk about it in here since it's "spoiler free" and Guru has proven that spoiler tags are ineffective).

Yeah< I think I'm avoiding all of it. Keg just posted something in the other thread. I opened the spoiler tag, read the firs few words, then closed it. I just think I don't WANT to see them.

Now that the entire first ****ing scene/opening of the film has been released I'm definitely going dark.

Jesus Christ, internet. We got 10 months. Why not just put Episode VIII online in 1080p.

The honest truth? Some people (me) are looking to feel that feeling once again as Vader's Star Destroyer filled the screen and took 17 minutes to fly by in that first scene from Star Wars in 1977. I guess I'm afraid of robbing that moment of pure wonder from myself if I spoil it all before I see it.

Your Game of Thrones comparison is fantastic. I had read the books before the show came out, but my daughter hadn't. When we watched the Red Wedding, the look of emotion on her face was priceless. She was so moved by that scene that she will likely never forget it, and I was actually kind of jealous in a strange way that I didn't feel what she felt right then. I want to feel that with Episode VII if at all possible. That's why I avoid as much spoilering as I can.
