Was it Dajuan Morgan or Daquan Menzie? Some shit like that?

They were DBs but those dudes were ass.

In fact, I'm not even sure they were real people. I feel like I remember them but I'm not entirely sure. They're not worth the brain space.

True, but I thought Cottam could've become a good player, but injuries cut his career short.

At this point, I think Dan Quinn gets the Falcons' coaching job. They must be waiting for a reason. They have an offense, mostly, but need a defense, and Quinn can help with that.

Well, you already have Tyson 'Dumpster Fire' Jackson and a host of other standouts of the 2-14 AIDs Freight that was the 2012 Chiefs there in place...

There's no point to that, other than...I hate Scott Pioli.

YES. THIS^

This is why the Chiefs will never win a Super Bowl with Chunt running the show.

It starts at the top...and as far as 'the top' is concerned, asses are back in the seats and they have 'righted the ship.'

When in reality, they're one serious injury at the QB position to being a 5 win team (or worse). There is no depth, no long term answer.

And they don't care. They're all making $$$$$.

This can be said for just about any team in the NFL.

Where's the "depth" in Atlanta, New Orleans or Dallas? How about Chicago, Green Bay, Detroit or Minnesota? San Francisco or Seattle? We all know about the "depth" in Arizona because they went through three QB's.

Despite the fact that the league changed the rules in 2004 in order to make QB's "Matinee Idols", with hopes of every teams having a "Franchise QB", it hasn't happened.

The best arm talent is going into MLB, where there's less chance of long-term injuries such as concussions and bodily harm. Plus, unlike the NFL, there's guaranteed contracts in MLB.

This is a long term problem for the NFL because "Franchise QB's" don't grow on trees and can't be fabricated out of thin air due to rule changes.

if you dig schaudenfreude, follow the falcons message board through all this...pioli's stench is everywhere

this is a report from the morning's sports radio in atl...does 'the process' sound familiar?

Quote:
- Bowles/Bowles agent called Falcons - we are getting an offer from Jets - do you want to make us an offer? Falcons response: NO, we are sticking with "the process"
- Bowles felt there was much more pressure in Flowery Branch/Falcons than the other places he interviewed.
- It does not feel like Arthur Blank's presence is helping the Falcons right now
- Rich McKay is leading the interviews and is conceding that the personnel is awful (lol, while Dimitroff is sitting in the room)

Steak (radio host) interviewing LaConfora:

1st interview w/ Teryl Austin - Pioli challenges Austin on his selections for OC/DC which are 1st time coordinators - Pioli, you are a 1st time head coach and you want to bring in 1st time coordinators? Austin response: well I'm a first time coordinator, too -

Some feedback from coaching candidates - rather overwhelming and confusing with Blank, McKay, Pioli and Dimitroff - lots of cooks in the kitchen

Because of predictable play calling when he gets in the game half the time he gets hit by multiple defenders 3 yards deep in the backfield.

I also think the kid needs to self scout himself to stop giving the defense keys because he gets swallowed up in the backfield way too much.

If it weren't for the amount of times he gets hit in the backfield, dud would average over 5 per rush IMO. He always has big play potential due to his size speed combo.

Reading about Pioli and Dimitroff always makes me laugh. Reminds me of that piece of trash book - The Patriot Way - The Road to A Modern NFL Dynasty.

Ha, ha. That book kissed the arses of everyone in the Patriots tree. They had a great draft tidbit where Belichick and Pioli were trying to talk Dimitroff out of giving up picks for Jones. The others argued you can get just as good of a WR later in the first round - Baldwin!!

Yeah, that worked out great.
