Where the **** do you get this idea that Cam at this point of his career can play like Lamar for 16+ games?
Cam Newton has played in at least 14 regular season games 8 out of 9 seasons. Nobody is saying he will be as good as Lamar.

He's only 5 years removed from taking his team to a 15-1 record and a Super Bowl appearance throwing to return specialist Ted Ginn Jr and Jerricho Cotchery.

It’s like some of you don’t watch the rest of the NFL.

Cam’s body has already started to break down. He’s not capable of using his legs that much for an entire season and he also has shoulder issues that affect his throwing ability that he’s yet to come back from. To suggest any of that is going to change all of a sudden is baseless speculation and overly optimistic.

This is spot on. Cam's best days are behind him.

And bullshit. The Pats do NOT have a roster as good as the Titans or Bills. That Pats roster is as bad as it’s been in a very long time.
Uhhhh... Let's not get reeruned. The O-line is still solid, the defensive backfield still has Gilmore and McCourty, Hightower isn't dead yet and Winovich should take a step forward, the RB trio (Burkhead, Harris, Michel) still adds up to a decent backfield, they still have Edelman and Sanu and if Harry ever finally develops they're not horrible at WR (although it's easily the weak spot), they drafted TWO good rookie tight ends... They lost two big-name players, Van Noy and Jamie Collins, both of whom were "who?"s before resurging in New England. (And I'm not including Brady because you all can't have your cake and eat it too; you can't claim Brady was washed up and the 24th best QB and then in the same breath try to say he's an insurmountable loss.) I'm not saying their roster is Super Bowl caliber, but it's certainly not "as bad as it's been in a very long time". I repeat my assertion: without Cam they're probably around .500 and challenge for a weak division, but if Cam is healthy and starting they should probably win that East as the #3 or #4 overall seed.

Did they not lose some key pieces on defense like Van Noy?
Uhh... LIKE Van Noy? They lost Van Noy (who was a nobody before getting into their system) and Jamie Collins (who was a failure before getting back into their system). That's about it. The Pats were the #1 D in yards allowed AND points allowed. You telling me Van Noy was THAT good?

They are worse than they were in 2019 and now Cam Newton puts them in the AFCCG?
He's replacing the 24th-best QB last season. If he's healthy, you don't think he can do better? If the Patriots had a healthy Cam last season or an Andy Dalton, you don't think they do better?

I see a fail. Cam has never been anpocket passer. He can't move the way he once did so him just running all over won't end well.

Coming from you I consider that a compliment. Punkass bitch

It's a good signing. Even if it doesn't work out they got him for a one-year deal for pennies (by NFL QB salary standards).

Personally i think he is worth the gamble for a league minimum deal. He looked real good the first 8 weeks of 2018. Hurt his shoulder. Which you are right we never saw if the shoulder was healthy in 2019. But keep in mind that he played through the shoulder injury for 8 games in 2018. Have to believe that it was a injury that hurt his play but not major structural problems.

Then he hurt his foot. Which I have to believe that is not going to be long term and is healed. So he is 32 and probably lost a step but where last years the team could not throw at all, why not put in a QB that gives some threat of a threat to run. Keep the back side of the defense honest.
