Peter King: Scouts not impressed with 2013 QB class

Bad year to pick a QB 1, 2 or 3. QBs sinking like stones in eyes of NFL scouts.

What he is is solid and steady. Which is great if you want to recreate what the Falcons or Chargers have done the last few years.

Myself, I want to win a Super Bowl and Barkley just doesn't seem to have that spark of being able to take a team on his back and will them to a win.
I agree about getting a guy with "it" and that is "clutch." It's the most important things in a pro QB. Matt Ryan had those characteristics in college and they are really showing this year. Those things go hand in hand with leadership. Out of the big three QBs, Wilson is #1 in those areas.

However, Glennon's stock is rising and he is better in those areas than all three of them.

LOL, how in the hell would you or anyone else posting on a message board know that?

This is the shit I hate about discussing QB draftees. All the subjective bullshit that idiots claim are facts.

Yep. Can we all agree to stop talking about what kind of leader so & so QB prospect is? There's no F-ing way we can know that without being in that locker room or without being around the guy.

That kind of stuff we'll just have to leave up to coaches or scouts who have had close contact with them.

how is it possible be as ****ing stupid as you are every day of your worthless life?

a freshman Barkley beat a top 10 ohio state on the road in his second game ever...leading a game winning drive and converting a two point conversion

http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=292550194
Quote:
The official stats will call it a 14-play, 86-yard drive, but it really started with USC at its own 5, facing a second-and-19 with 6:09 left in the game.

Suddenly, an offense stymied and held scoreless all second half by a hard-charging Ohio State defense came alive.

"He was scared, really," McKnight said with a laugh about his quarterback. "No, he came in with the same composure he had the whole game. He was calm. He made plays."
He went toe to toe with Luck last year and only lost in triple OT because his RB fumbled in the endzone...he came back this year to lead a team that is suspended due to recruiting violations...

but our resident knuckle dragging moron black reerun doesn't think he's ever displayed leadership?

find a shotgun and please for love of everything holy shoot yourself...what did we do to deserve this curse?

Barkley and Smith both look like QBs with potential to succeed in the NFL. The biggest knock I can see on them is that they are NOT Luck or RGIII. This is hurting their draft stock more than anything else. Had they come out any year but this one, they would be getting praise instead of doubts.

yeah, people are going way overboard about this draft class...part of it is luck/RG3 last year....part of it is just Chiefs fans being pussies about drafting a QB...

last year, when you suggested losing to get a QB everyone cried "how can you root for the Chiefs to lose?!?!"...now it it's "the QBs were better last year!"

Matt Ryan's TD/INT ratio his senior year was enough to make scouts reconsider his draft status going into the combine.

You don't know shit about Matt Ryan. Just like you don't know anything about leadership or what the QB "it" factor is.

You think Jay Cutler has "it".

You're a moron.

Not so fast there Chuckie.

As it's been mentioned a couple times, Glennon has a problem with trying to force the ball into his receivers. He's turnover/interception prone because of it and it's been a big flag on his game the past two years. That's why he's been considered a mid-rounder. He/they/NC State recently beat Top Ten Florida State and everyone suddenly noticed him, but he's continuing to play like he always has in forcing the ball.

Since you mentioned CBS, they actually had a recent article on Glennon stating that the Florida State game may have artificially elevated his stock.:

Quote:
Glennon wasn't able to help himself in this contest, however, as the 6-5, 232 pounder struggled to escape pressure and too often failed to pull the trigger when he did have receivers open downfield. Glennon was sacked in the endzone for a safety in the second quarter and shortly thereafter fumbled after another sack. It was Glennon's third turnover of the first half and helped Virginia take a 16-0 lead into halftime.

Scouts love Glennon's size and arm strength. His experience in head coach Tom O'Brien's pro-style offense is also a significant plus. For as statistically impressive as Glennon was against the Tar Heels last week, however, two of his five touchdowns were the result of coverage lapses (32, 83 yarders) and, frankly, his day could have been even more impressive had his passes been more accurate. Glennon completed "just" 29 of his 52 passes (55.7%) against the Tar Heels, often forcing his receivers to adjust and ruining some opportunities to gain additional yardage after the catch. He also threw two interceptions in this contest.

The same inconsistent ball placement was on display against Virginia. At halftime, Glennon had completed 11 of 22 passes for just 95 yards and he didn't lead the Wolfpack into the redzone until midway through the fourth quarter. By that time, Virginia owned a commanding 26-0 lead.
He's basically the same guy he's always been and will require a bit of coaching at the next level to make him understand ball placement and coverage. He's still pretty much a mid-rounder IMO, though he does have the size and arm to justify a 4th round pick or so on him. A little bit like Ricky Stanzi at the same level, though by his senior year, Stanzi had the inconsistencies in his passes under control and also put together a better W-L resume than Glennon has.

Yeah, that's why I've been posting my concerns about Geno's footwork in several threads, for several days. Because I'm sucking his balls.

I'm knocking you because you don't have a ****ing clue what you're looking at. You may know what you want but your sadly misinformed about what "it" is.
