**** OFFICIAL 2015 Flopnut's Fatties Weight-loss Thread****

We didn't do it last year but we did it two years ago and I'm bringing it back. Post in here if you want to drop some poundage and I'll add you to the main post. Set yourself a goal and then post in here to be held accountable. If you want....we can track your weight-loss all year long and then crown a winner at the end of the year. I know in the past that posters have put up prizes (not necessary).

Let's do this shit....

FYI: This is not a thread to start arguments over which way is the best way to lose weight. There are different ways for different people. Keep the stupid shit out of this thread.

Your current BMR is 2120 calories, and that's if you do no exercise at all.

http://www.exercise4weightloss.com/w...alculator.html

If you eat 1400 calories a day for 2 months you will lose 720 calories a day in fat.

720 x 60 = 43,200 calories is about 12 pounds of fat los (3500 cals per pound of fat).

Mix in some exercise and I bet you get close to 20 pounds fat loss.

You could burn an additional 300 calories a day in exercise, giving you another 5 pounds of fat loss over the same period.
I'm not sure about this. You need to make sure that you're eating enough protein so that you aren't losing muscle instead of fat. I don't think calorie deficit automatically equals fat loss, it could be muscle loss too.

---

On another point, I used to be a 12-18 beer or 6-12 oz vodka a day drinker, for years straight. When I got the motivation to lose weight, and realized that drinking was hindering that, I stopped gladly, and I haven't gone back to it. Replacing it with something that I thrived for made me give it up pretty easily.

No. You have to be practically starving yourself to lose muscle.

Well, no. I don't really drink. And when I do, at most, it's two drinks. And I don't put shit in my body.

Because it's impossible for old people to be lean.

I'm 33 and in the best shape of my life. I don't plan to get fat ever again.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I don't have bad dietary and lifestyle habits, ergo I won't become the thing I fear.

I'm at 200 and would like to be to 180 by my wedding May 30. I'll gain it all back on food and beer while in Greece the week after.

You could be 170. Easy.

Just eat these foods, and count the calories. Very easy to count the calories in these foods.

No sugar (fresh fruit doesn't count), no alcohol, or you will look fat in your wedding pics.

Also if you absolutely have to have a sweet thing once inawhile, sugar free chocolate pudding is the bizzzooommbbbb.

Just a recommendation but cut out virtually all calories you get from beverages. Most days I just drink water or crystal light, which is zero calories from beverages, leaving me that many more calories to get from food and feel fuller while losing weight.

I NEVER buy either anymore...if I want chips and queso I get it at a restaurant. And the expense of that deters me from doing it too often.

And don't drink calories.
So much truth in this.

That's part of what shook me out of my fugue - all the trash I alone would create with chip bags, fast food, take out....you name it. I was truly on a mission to pack weight on for whatever ****ed up reason, and damned if I didn't do it. Hell, my goal in January is to lose ~25 lbs. just on diet alone, although I am "exercising" (going to take a bit to get back into workout mode). Legs are kind of rubbery tonight, actually.

Plus that's the one good thing I do - I drink water almost exclusively. No sodas, Gatorades, Monsters, tea, anything...just H20. On the weekend I might have a beer or two, but only if I'm out with friends, usually never at home.
