Candylicious: Round 1, Heats 61 through 64

Here are the rules. This will be a head to head tournament. For efficiency's sake, I will run four heats in each thread.

Therefore, I will put up four pairs of candies. For each pair, you will identify the candy that you would most like to have at the moment of voting. It doesn't necessarily have to be your favorite candy overall, just the one that sounds good right now. For visualization purposes, you may assume that you're out trick or treating (dressed as a head of cabbage), and the woman at the door is offering you your choice of two options. You can only pick one, or if you would turn them both down, you can pick zero (not to be confused with the Zero bar).

So to summarize, you will vote for four candies in each thread, one candy per heat. And here they are!

Heat 61: Dum Dums versus Laffy Taffy

Heat 62: Milky Way versus Ghirardelli Squares (miscellaneous flavors)

Heat 63: Wowee Whistle versus Pearsons Salted Nut Roll

Heat 64: Everlasting Gobstoppers versus Baci Perugina

I rarely go into the candy aisle but you're right, most everything is smaller now. The 5th avenue bar is really small. These "giant" sweet tarts are nothing like the size they were growing up. I think a lot of it has to do with calorie labeling that most candy has now. Who wants a candy bar to read 500 calories per bar over 250 per bar on the front label. We are paying more to get less because America is fat and can't determine a serving size!

I know. It's been years since I've been in the candy aisle. Some interesting stuff there!

I'm headed back to the store for some salad later, and may yet take a detour through chocolate lane...
