Walmart apologizes for 'fat girl' costumes
Sounds like they know their clientele.

(CNN) -- Walmart found itself sending apology tweet after apology tweet Monday after the Twitterverse raked it over the coals for a major goof on its website.
For whatever inexplicable reason, the retail giant's site featured a Halloween category, titled "Fat Girl Costumes."

You won't find it there now, thank goodness, but it stayed there for a large part of the morning -- and long enough for multiple screen grabs.

The presence of the category was first reported by Jezebel, which in turn was alerted by a reader who stumbled upon it while looking for costumes.

It was basically a collection of costumes that you'd usually find on the site's plus-size women's section.

After Twitter users complained in droves, Wal-Mart took down the section and sent out multiple apology tweets.

Reminds me of when I was about a year out of college, I was working on a website for a client. The main client contact was a total dick. One of our jr. web designers photoshopped a pic of one of the client's marketing directors to make him look cross-eyed as a joke and inserted it into the design to see if our account teams would notice. They did not. The comp went to the client, and he didn't notice either. By the time anyone noticed, we had all forgotten and the site was live. Needless to say, ol' Jason in Web Design didn't last too long.
