Event #1 is $230 buy in and a two day event
Event #6 $150
Qualifier event is $200 and one in 10 players will earn a seat in the $1650 main event

how many players are usually in the field for 1 and 6? What is the blind structure?

Per HTP website. Last year, event 2 for $350 buy in had the winner go for $20,365. Main event winner last year won $144,000.

I would expect the pools to be larger actually this year, because last year they added KC to the schedule on late notice.

I'm not sure. This will be my first attempt in playing it as well. I'm about a 95% cash game player. They have structures and past results on the website I believe.

I'm off the entire week and those are the tournaments that don't interfere with St. Patrick's day and the NCAA tournament.

They had their first HPT Kansas City stop last year, in October or something I believe. I went up there a couple times to play cash games, and played in the Main Event. And bubbled, of course.

I'll be up there this year again, for sure. It got pretty good numbers last time, and I would only expect it to increase this year. For some reason, Kansas City has zero WSOP Circuit, HPT, or WPT stops until last year when the HPT came to town.

No no, just the money. I only play like 6 tournaments a year. Haven't had much success yet. Cash games treat me a little better. Someday I'll win the poker lottery, someday.

I never really play tournaments. I've played a handful of those daily ones every casino has, they are a waste of time. I also played in the Deepstack at the Venetian and the Sunday 100k tournament on bodog a few times. No luck.

They apparently have a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool tournament coming up in a month or so on the Winning Poker Network (Some of the skins are Black Chip Poker, Americans Cardroom)

Also, theres going to be an amazing new tournament at the World Series of Poker this year. Starts May 29th in Las Vegas to kick off the Series. Called the Colossus, only a $565 buy in, and WSOP expects to get at least 13,000 entrants. Going to have a HUGE payout to the winner for such a low buy in tournament.

Is America's Cardroom and America's Bookie the same outfit? I get text messages from them all the time.

I'm gonna play event #1 for sure, if I do worth a damn I will stick around and play every event. I want to at least play 2 and a qualifier for the main.
