It's an Achilles.
I'd take him in the 2nd if the staff isn't sold on Mitchell. If they are, I'd probably still take him in the 3rd. |

Do away with pro days, invite everyone to the combine and make every player participate (barring injury).

Like QBs I feel can't show their talent until a proday for many reasons... They can't show accuracy while throwing to brand new receivers they don't know anything about. They can't properly display their arm talent unless they know where their receivers are going to be. I agree that most positions don't need a proday. The combine is raw data and should be good enough to properly judge measurables. Even with a torn Achilles, I'd still draft Sydney Jones in the fourth...maybe comp third. He has the talent to be a difference making starter in the NFL. We have guys in the locker room that have battled back from Achilles injuries and DJ is currently rehabbing his, so it would give each other strength...youth and energy and a true professional all pro for him to learn day to day stuff from. Jones was my top non QB I hoped would make it to 27. The tough part about the injury is the kid will need to be red shirted and you only get a rookie deal for 4 years, so there big lost value even if he does return to full strength. |

I'd take him with our 2nd.
