Former Chief Joe McKnight killed in road rage dispute

Road Rage

Wow.

http://www.tmz.com/2016/12/01/joe-mc...rage-shooting/

Quote:
Ex-NFL running back Joe McKnight was murdered in a road rage shooting in New Orleans ... law enforcement tells TMZ Sports.

The incident occurred at 2:43 PM. Family members identified the 28-year-old at the scene. A witness told NOLA.com ... she saw McKnight trying to apologize to another man after some sort of traffic incident.

The witness says the man then pulled out a gun and shot McKnight -- and while standing over him screamed, "I told you not to f**k with me" ... then fired another shot into his body.

McKnight was a high school phenom -- considered the best running back in the country. He played college ball at USC. He was drafted by the NY Jets in 2010.

Ooof....that's a tough stance....but I do agree that something needs to be done to start holding people like that accountable.

Edit: When I read your post originally, I was thinking about witnesses that gave false media interviews. That's why I called it a tough stance. I 100% agree that someone that gave false testimony should be charged.

Not sure why the mentality of people seems to change so much when they get behind the wheel. It's almost like an alternate personality for a lot of people when they are in their cars. I've known many people that seem nice in person but act like they have tourettes when they drive, randomly cussing at everyone in their path. People tend to exhibit the same behavior online, but there's not a lot of harm that can be caused from behind a monitor.

I've had people merge into me and/or run me nearly off the road on my motorcycle on a dam near daily basis. Hell my crash in July was just that, dude came over into my lane and hit me/forced me into a triangle between his car and the curb. when I give them the finger or kindly tell them to get ****ed when we're at a light, they lose their shit. completely oblivious to how they drive and their surroundings or the laws or how you're supposed to drive. (like turning into the nearest lane on a multi-lane road for example)

Told one guy last fall, to kindly get ****ed as I pulled along his passenger side at a light - he turned left onto the road I was traveling and instead of staying in his inner lane/left lane, he swung wide all the way into my lane (right lane) as I approached before returning to the left very abruptly. He responded with something along the lines of 'maybe I should get out and you can say that shit to me again'. I said calmly and shrugged "I got all day, do what ya gotta do bud".

He got out I shut off the bike, and got off of it, and I figured 'alright let's do this'. That mother****er didn't even make it around the headlight on his side. Started spouting off more shit. Told him to come closer and I'd "say that shit again" so he'd be sure to hear it. He got back in then sped off, while trying to swerve right and swipe my parked bike. Pulled even with him a few lights later and just waved at him while he flipped me off. Had he walked all the way over to me I would've swung without blinking an eye.

If it gets to that point where a dude is wanting to fight, getting out of a car and walking over to me then talking is over in my book. HE might think there's still talking to be had, but he'd be wrong. If some shithead wants to get out tangle over some dumb shit I'm down for that. Hell, I've lost fights and won fights.so no big deal to me either way. Getting hit sucks, but knocking a mother****er on his ass when he wanted to be a tough guy is Sooooo worth it.

people lose their minds with this road rage shit ( not laughing at this particular incident with McKnight, just in general). It's incredible to witness as a biker. Woman, in my experience, have some of the worst rage out there.

Oh, that makes sense, too. I was picturing Gasser sitting down because they found the casings in Gassers car.

As you mentioned though, and I actually had the thought to myself as well, maybe Gasser put the casings back in his car.

Yeah, I thought about that afterward.

It could go either way. One witness said gasser pulled mcknight out of his car but it could easily be the other way around. Mcknight could have been pulling gasser out and got shot then.

Or gasser could have pulled him out, shot him, he goes to his ass and he fires two more. Then picks up the casings.

The first is more likely. But crazier shit happens every day

I should upload pics of 7 lanes of wall to wall traffic. LA is a virtual parking lot.

It took me 5 minutes to get to my kid's elementary school today and 21 minutes to find a parking spot.

I didn't kill anyone, curse anyone or pull a gun.

Some people just aren't fit for society. That's a society issue, not a race issue.

I see Reggie Bush is doing a tribute to McKnight this weekend painting his cleats. I also noticed that Bush had McKnight's birth year wrong on his cleats.

For sure, I've had some incidents on my bike. Folks are completely at fault, but if you say something to them it flips a switch and they decide to be ****ing gangster on the road. Right up till you kickstand the bike and stand in front of them and when he realizes either their in the wrong or the 260 lb biker in front of them looks a lot different up close.

Hell, you've rode with me before... i'm not all that scary looking, just think it just comes down to actually following through with their big boy act. They get out of the car and the mentality changes.
