That was the Patriots best shot...KC rolls them in the playoffs

Belichick had 10 days to devise something that would confuse Mahomes. It worked for one half of a game. It took an early INT, returned to the Patriots 4, two easy missed TDs, another INT before half and Speaks letting Brady go...just so they could win by 3 points at home. It also took zero penalty yards.

Chiefs were without Berry, Sorenson and Houston.

Chiefs scored 31 points after half...

That was NE's best shot...it's on tape now. It wont fool Mahomes again...

KC is going to roll them in the post-season....

Great. You will no doubt have a chance to prove that your team is an all-time great in January. We'll see how it goes then.

Until then, it's all just hot air....a specialty of yours.

Funny how the Donx get to start out almost every year with a flurry of home games and tough opponents almost always at home, too.

I'd also be they don't play many back to back road games.

same as it ever was...

When was the last time the same three teams that have ruled the AFC played the toughest schedule in the league...?

3. 4 games against one AFC division, on a rotating basis. Home/away determined years in advance.

4. That's 14 games. The final two are against the two teams in your conference, in a division other than your own or the one you are playing against all of. The two games will be against the two teams in those divisions who had an identical finish in the year before, as you did in your division. In other words, the AFC West is playing the AFC North next year, and KC finishes first, then next year they would play the AFC East and AFC South teams that finished first.

Then, the prior offseason the computer spits out options the exact schedule for when those 16 games will occur. There are MANY parameters on that. For example, NFL games can't overlap with baseball games in a shared stadium, and there can't be too many prime time games for any given team, or too many Thursday night games, etc. etc. etc.

More than you would ever want to know on that:

https://www.si.com/mmqb/2017/04/21/n...-roger-goodell

As for the rest, it just shows you're a whiny little pussy. The Patriots started with 3 out of 4 road games as recently as 2014. But who the **** cares? Every road game has an away game to match. Every short week has a long week after. JFC, can you bitch and moan more?
Please explain why the Broncos have NEVER started a season with 3 out of 4 on the road...ever? You know...because there is no way favoritism could exist.

Typical entitled NE dolt who refuses to see how things are exploited for "Terrific Tom". You would think the 2 conference games (Chiefs/Steelers) would pair the top teams on equal footing....nope...let's give NE 10 days and make KC travel. Payback for the opening day beat down.

NFL knew this game was going to be crucial in play-off seeding...so let's not call any penalties either.

This is done on a year to year basis for the top teams...as is the home/away arrangement. Denver has NEVER played 3 out of 4 on the road to start a season...the rest of the AFCW has like 35 times combined.

Giving NE a home Thursday game vs. the 4-12 Colts...then a home game on 10 days rest vs. KC was a nice touch.
We are scheduled to play all of the AFC East teams every 3 years. In 2017 we played at New England and in 2014 New England played in KC. This year, we played New England only because we both finished in first. There is no favoritism in the opponents that we play each year. All of that is predetermined ahead of time.

There is favoritism in how you arrange the games....like Denver never having started with 3 out 4 on the road. NFL could have scheduled the Steelers at Foxborough and NE at Arrowhead...since that would have flipped last's years conference games.

They could have given NE a different team after their semi-bye week..or scheduled that game on the road. Nope, this was a calculated effort.

Since 2013...NE has had 5 out of 6 Thursday night games at home. Nothing to see here...they are 6-0.

To add insult to injury...they scheduled KC to face two teams (Denver/NE) both on 10 days rest in a 3 game stretch. I'm curious if that has ever happened before...

To the bolded. Again, the locations and who they play are predetermined in advance for 14 of 16 games with the last two set the year prior. You are just gonna have to trust us Pats fans on this one. . Seriously, that is what
I have seen and heard, and sorry, I do not have a link handy. I just know from experience.

Agreed 100% the rub comes from how the NFL lays out the schedule. Do the Pats play home on TNF or the road, which the NFL controls. Do the pats play 4 playoff teams on the road or not, and so.

The biggest gripe i have with things is when there is a key game like this last one and one guy gets some more time. So agree.

A few more tidbits from the Pats past. I forget the year (it might of been '15), but late in the year the pats played three straight teams who had played TNF the week prior, so three teams with 10 days off each.

So it kind of evens out, but that do not change the fact that is sucks when its your turn.

I agree. Surely on one hand we do not want to look down at other teams, like make the Bills play the pats on 10 days rest as that game will likely not matter.

On the other hand though if in the spring the NFL knows, or predicts, a certain game will have playoff seeding, especially near the top, then i whole hearty agree that the game should be scheduled midseason and no byes so both teams are in midseason form and no extra rest for either team. Can not agree more.

You might of edited your post as i was replying.

Teams really should have no more than say 2 opponents per year who have had more rest. There are only 16 TNF games so 32 teams and thus the NFL has only 32 games to spread out and should be able to do with giving no more than 2 games to a given team.

And much less only spacing them 2 weeks apart. agree

Alas, the Pats did have three straight TNF opponents, i think in '15

Another interesting factoid for 2018...Steelers/Chiefs are currently #1/2 in penalties. Patriots are #32.

I would think that would be a disadvantage for Denver. Most teams would rather play in Denver early in the year before the snow starts to fall.

That's selective memory here. You also failed to mention 97-yard kick return in your post, was it Mahomes blocking on special teams?

I guess you can twist it in response somehow... i.e. "we would score a TD even if we started at 25" like it's granted.

Nah, I don't think there is a blueprint for stopping the offense with Hill, Watkins, Hunt, Kelce - that's four very good/elite targets, any QB would be successful with this group, and your QB is on the rise now. So I think they'll continue to drop 30+ pts a game.

When it comes to being willfully disingenuous, that's just BS. Here are some quotes for you from the thread we're discussing... before any Pats troll appeared you already had plenty fun there:

And that's just first couple of pages.

Oh, there were some exceptions to that, such as this one:

But that's the minority.

Anyways, you're not going to change my opinion on that discussion since I originally read some 30-40 pages of that and that was enough.

Now the game is over so let's focus on Bengals.

I don’t need to change your opinion to show you are being disingenuous. The first two things you said as evidence fans weren’t rational proved to be accurate. The offense did whatever they wanted and the Patriots stood no chance against them and Mahomes has his way. The Patriots made one play against him. The same amount that our pathetic defense made against Brady. You can spin it however you want but when an offense scores 40 points and has 8.4 yards per play, yes they had their way and did whatever they wanted.

You are then trying to claim fans calling for victory is irrational but that’s ridiculous, especially given the Chiefs could have easily won that game. So yes, trying to paint some picture of Chiefs fans being irrational or completely wrong and lying to themselves about this game is disingenuous, especially when your first two points you made, more than any others, are wrong and did happen exactly as predicted by Chiefs fans.

You seem weirdly fascinated with this BRONCOS HAVE NEVER STARTED A SEASON WITH 3 OUT OF 4 ON THE ROAD!!!!?!?! nonsense.

Have you checked to see if they ENDED the season with 3 out of 4 on the road? Wouldn't that be equally important?

Actually, is it somehow harder to play on the road in September versus October? Why the **** are the first four games so ultra-critical? In fact, haven't many teams -- including Chiefs teams -- proven that going 3-0, 4-0 or even 5-0 to start the season doesn't guarantee playoff appearances, or success once you get there?

Have you checked to see if the Broncos maybe didn't start 3 out of 4 on the road, but they did start, say, 2-2 at home on the road, with 2 road games to follow? So 4 out of 6 on the road. OH WAIT, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN 2015. But hang on, who the **** cares?

Why the actual **** is this 3 out of 4 games on the road to start the season remotely important? Unless, of course, you're a whiny pussy looking to find something, anything, to use as a pathetic excuse for a conspiracy.

Are you really THIS stupid? Nevermind, now that I saw who said it, I know that you are.

Stick to something you know, like washing Brady's balls, because you sure dont know dick about air temps and how they relate to oxygen content at high altitude. But like a typical big mouth chowd head, you think that you know it all.
