I know there are other threads about tapatalk (possibly started by me) but I couldn't easily find them so here's a new one.

Anyone still using tapatalk? I've used it for a long time and was generally happy but it's become more of a pain over time. I'm kind of wanting to move on from it. Any other apps that are similar but better? What other options are there for mobile browsing Chiefsplanet?

Just wondering what people are using.

I've always hated it. No need for mobile versions of anything IMO. Been browsing full sites from phones and browsers for a decade now.

I use it when I’m browsing on my phone almost solely because it remembers where I was in each thread. It’s a real pain having to scroll back through to find my place every time I return to a thread.

That said, it’s really hit or miss. With each update it gets marginally better or a shit ton worse. Seems to burn through more battery than anything else on my phone other than GPS also.

Your phone should do that too. Every phone I've ever had does that.

I use it and like it just fine. There really aren't reasonable alternatives. Developing apps for forums isn't exactly a lucrative business.

In Safari? I’ve browsed CP on Safari on iPhon 5, 6 and no 7. Don’t think it’s done it on any of them.

I use Chrome, but it should work in Safari too.

Only way I’ve ever seen it do that is if you click on the latest posted-in thread. Like, say I’m in the Lounge and this thread was just posted in. I can click on this thread’s header and it’ll take me to the latest post I’ve seen..

But if I’m in the Lounge opening up random threads it’ll just take me to the top of whichever page I click on.

Always click on the red down arrow to the left of any thread title. It will always take you to the last post you read.

I just use the full site. I have to zoom in to get to the arrow, but that's it.

Yeah, it's been around forever and seems oddly unknown. When somebody pointed it out to me (so long ago I can't remember who or when) it totally changed my CP browsing habits. To me, it is is hands down the best feature on the site. Makes the full site just fine on a mobile, albeit with the occasional zoom to hit the linkage as you point out.

It would be awesome if that behavior were just the default action when clicking the thread title.

I can't figure out how to get the "sent from phone" message from being displayed. How do I get that off? It didn't use to be there but the lost recent update has it and I can't get it to go away. I always have to make my post and then edit it to delete that message.

On Android at least, go all the way out to the main view for the app, then click on the profile icon. Click into settings and then click signature. Turn it off.
