He wound up mostly at slot corner, and was beaten relentlessly. The Chiefs were trying to trade Flowers, but found no takers for his contract. Flowers had some of the best years of his career under now-Texans DC Romeo Crennel, and cornerback depth is needed in Houston. We wouldn't be surprised to see them reunite. Flowers turned 28 in February.

He lands in a spot where he can immediately rehab his value as a starting corner and then hit the open market again at age 29. Flowers put plenty of really good tape together from 2008-12, and will add borderline Pro Bowl shadow ability to a pass defense that ranked 29th in the league last year. With first-round corner Jason Verrett also added to incumbents Shareece Wright and Richard Marshall, this won't be quite the unit to pick on that it was last season.
He's a Charger now.

People thinking our season is going to hinge on 1 CB are losing it. The majority of people were wrong last year who said 8-8 at best because Alex Smith sucks, etc.

Let's just wait and see what happens. Flowers was good and at times very good. But we need the space and he has been plagued with nagging injuries the last 2 seasons.

I am quite proud of myself for growing to be less sentimental. It was not an easy change. I started learning to ease up a bit with Donnie Edwards leaving and then coming back, and it has just gotten better for me the last few years.

I liked Flowers alot and I wish him well. Unless he is a Raider, in which case he can roast on the commemorative Harvey Williams spit.
