It just struck me: Hootie and Pete Rose are the same guy
Think about it. Nobody loves baseball more than Pete Rose. Nobody loves Chiefsplanet more than Hootie. And yet they are both banned for life from the things they love.

They were both banned because their compulsive gambling obsessions caused them to piss off the people with the power to ban them. Rose pissed off several MLB commissioners by lying his ass off about gambling on baseball games and by being an obnoxious douchebag about the whole thing. Hootie pissed off the last CP moderator who had previously been in his corner by being a total douchebag in the Fanduel forum. Then he made the unwise decision to throw gasoline on the fire by posting a thread full of demented ramblings and false accusations, and he put it in the Lounge for everyone to see.

I completely understand why Hootie was banned. I also think it was an emotional decision and quite possibly a harsher punishment than Hootie deserved. It saddens me to think that a guy who loves Chiefsplanet as much as Hootie does is permanently banned from the site.

I am hardly a Hootie fanboy. He and I have clashed quite a bit over the last year or so, and we've cussed each other out and insulted each other more times than I can count.

But I think he added a lot to the site. I will miss him.
