Well, I buy shit I need. Yeah, that’s pretty much it. If we want something to eat and have it, we make it. If not, we go to the store. I hit Sams or Costco maybe twice a month for staples like canned maters, beans and berries. Otherwise it’s whenever I need something. I never do the big sho

My mom was a hard working grocery shopper. She used to take us four kids to church on Sunday mornings in Liberty and then make the rounds to 3 or 4 different grocery stores. She came armed with coupons and knew which stores had the best bargains. She worked pretty hard to minimize the grocery bill. I admire her effort.
Screw that. I go to the store when I need something or when I have a craving or when I'm about out of milk or eggs. I never go to more than one store. I usually go to Hyvee, unless I want something that the local Price Chopper does better (e.g. their salad bar). I try not to go on an empty stomach, but sometimes I'm there because I'm hungry. I buy enough fresh stuff for a few meals and I'm somewhat sensitive to price (I like asparagus, but I don't buy it when it's completely out of season at $5 or $6 a bunch), but I mostly buy food to enjoy it not to survive at the lowest cost. I eat out a lot too and occasionally purchase kit meals from Home Chef, which is like Blue Apron, but cheaper and less gourmet.

My mom is in her twilight years now. I'm trying to break her of her depression-remembering, frugal ways and encouraging her to spend money (which she can more than afford) on convenience and indulgence. She's coming around, but it takes a lot of coaching.
If I left her to her own devices, she'd survive on peanut butter and cereal.

Guilty as charged. If I could afford it, I'd hire a chef to come to my house and cook it for me too.

I haven't stepped a foot in a grocery store for two years. Grocery shopping is for women.

Our society is literally turning into those D-Bags from Wall-E on the ship. As for myself, ive found i still enjoy going to the store and shopping myself. I didnt like sitting at the computer and picking things out one by one. Id rather walk the store and see everything layed out in front of my eyes. I will say, i think you save money buying online because you dont impulse buy as much as walking the store.

I don’t think it’s laziness. I think it’s better time management. We actually cook more at home now, I think in part to the fact that we can pick everything up so quickly. We often start an online order early in the week for a weekend pickup, and add to it throughout the week. |

I'm as guilty as the rest when it comes to convenience. But we have to call it what it is. Anyways, food is Wal Mart/Hy-Vee for anything other than meat. As far as meat, animals come to my house and get fat, then commit suicide. It's the damndest thing you ever seen |
