Would you trade Alex Smith for Colin Kaepernick straight up?

I would not. Alex is a better quarterback right now and does not have the off field incidents of Kaepernick

Not that you did this, but there are people here that basically abandoned the 49ers (or just bemoan them constantly for choosing Kap) when Alex Smith was traded. How is that any better than what I said above?

In fact, how is it not WORSE? I'm choosing to abstain. They're choosing to change sides, like Benedict Arnold.
Well.. before you go giving me too much credit. I am on record, both here and on Niners board, as saying that when the Chiefs play the Niners, I'll be rooting for the Chiefs. That is not to say that I'm more of a Chiefs fan than a Niners fan, because I'm not... I'm just selfish really. I want to be right about Smith as much as the haters want me to be wrong. It's not the Niners per say that I want Smith and the Chiefs to beat so much as it is all the fans sitting in the stands that were screaming "we want Carr" in 2010. That's who I want Smith and the Chiefs to beat.

Or your script hasn't arrived yet.

I have my own favorites (Flowers, Houston, etc) but if they all had to burn in fire for the Chiefs to finally win a super bowl I'd strike the match...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Well, again, for your sake I hope they don't trade Berry. You sound like you have too many years invested to walk away now.

Takes a big man to admit something like that. I mean that with all sincerity.

Script? Didn't follow that.

I hear you though. In my opinion, it's not quite the same. Flowers, Houston, etc. are all for the most part loved here in KC - or at the very least, not hated. There aren't people hanging Flowers likeness in effigy or burning his jersey in the street. Smith was insanely polarizing for San Fran fans. Even before Harbaugh signed on and drafted Kap.

I have plenty of favorites on the niners and many have been traded over the years, but I don't hop on the message boards of their new teams and root for them to beat the niners. Don't expect I ever will again.

Not so much on a MB. Try doing it in a bar full of San Fran fans. You literally do need to be a big man to get away with it (thank you mom and dad).

He is indeed a highly effective game manager, playing the style of football (conservative or aggressive) that gives his team the best chance to win. It may not be flashy much of the time, but it has proven over the last 3 season's to be an effective way to WIN games. Isn't that the ultimate goal? Not who has the best YPG average, or who throws the most bombs?
Definitely he turns on the engine when need be. I would prefer he turn it on at will more often regardless of defense performance or game situation. I Don't want him to be a 20+ yard gunslinger but a balanced and smart qb (he's already smart, of course.) I hope he stays around top 5 in qb rushing yards and raises his attempts of 20+ yard attempts to around 12 percent, rather than at 9 percent.

I was impressed with his performance especially after the bye week; considering the youth and inexperience of his o-line, lack of talented receivers, and roller coaster defense.

Really excited for the season to begin; Hope what we saw against the Colts was foreshadowing of more to come

All because of Berry? Jeez. You've said stuff like this before, and you're still here.

You've been saying you don't root for them now, that you're indifferent about the Chiefs. Was that wrong?

Dude, I've left you alone for the better part of a month. Don't ****ing start. I'm still here because I like HERE, not because of the Chiefs. I have just as many posts in the Media Center as I do anywhere else, so get over it.

Indifferent as in it no longer bothers me when they draft offensive linemen or lose football games. I'm used to it.

I root for them during the games and when the game is over, I don't think about the Chiefs anymore.

Grow the **** up and leave me the **** alone. This is EXACTLY what I was talking about. I don't follow you around and nitpick your every post.

By the way, I find it ironic that you have such a HUGE problem with me being down on the Chiefs but you have NO PROBLEM AT ALL with a bunch of 49er fans that SWITCHED TEAMS because the 49ers traded a backup QB.

I haven't posted in a week or so, lighten up. If you want to be left alone stop posing on a message board. It lends itself to people seeing, and responding to things you say

Sorry. I get intrigued by people that say, if the Chiefs do this, or don't do that, I'm not a fan anymore. I think it's odd.

Do you think I just woke up one morning and said "if the Chiefs do X, I'm done"?

How long have you been fan? I'm asking in all seriousness because I think there's a difference here in perspective.
