Dodgers are wheeling and dealing. Friedman's putting his stamp on the team. Then again, the thing that actually knocked them out of the race the last two years was Kershaw's inability to figure out the Cardinals.

We will have a 3 to 4 game swing on the Tigers, thus if we lose 3 or 4 to the others it all equals out.

The Twins and the Sox lost 90 games last year. I'm not scared of the Twins at all. The White Sox will be better, but I'm still a bit skeptical until I see them play. The Tigers look to be down and the Indians will be tough.

Let's keep in mind it doesn't take a lot to replace what Butler and Aoki did. I would like to see upgrades there of course, but we should be no worse off.

Shields is a tougher replacement, but I expect Ace to get better as well as Duffy (health depending) We really just need to find a solid 3 who can eat innings.

I also expect Hosmer, Moose and Cain to be a lot more confident next year. If they perform like they did in the playoffs we'll be fine.

That's why their top priority is a pitcher... as it probably should be. They need to try and fill as many of those 200 IP as they can.

But at the end of the day, the success of this team is going to bank on Ventura, Duffy, Moose and Hosmer. You have to develop front of the rotation starting pitchers, and you have to develop power. There's no magic answer there. But they definitely need to find depth and some guys that can work in an OF/DH rotation.
