Chiefs fans thanking Alex Smith in a unique way

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2018/...n-a-unique-way

Whether you loved him or hated him, he helped bring this team out of the toilet and his foundation is doing good work. Some fans are saying thank you by donating $11 dollars to the Alex Smith Foundation. It's not a lot of money for most people, and 95% of money given to the foundation goes directly to the kids.

We got what we expected from Smith, maybe more. I think he worked hard, was a good citizen, represented the Chiefs and KC well.

It will be interesting to see what a new team, new offense and a solid OL can bring out in Smith. Got to give him credit he did rack up the stats. Now we have to find out if Andy and company was the reason he failed when big games were being played.

I'll donate $100 for every time he ever personally accepted responsibility for a playoff loss.

Alex is a genuinely good guy and this is a genuinely good cause. If you can't cough up $11 bucks that's fine, but there's really no need to shit on the charity side of Alex.

I normally let crass comments from some people go, but I can't imagine how sad and pathetic those same people's lives must be. When you can't thank a guy for doing good work for kids that would otherwise be on the street, you have lost your soul. Here's my $11, Alex and Elizabeth and thanks for being good citizens of our area.

To be honest, he assisted with making us a respectable franchise again in exchange for two second round picks. He gave us 5 respectable years for a reasonable salary, was a great locker room player, active in the community, and worked with Mahomes knowing for certain he was being replaced. In the end, he had the best year of his career, got us premium value in trade compensation, and yet never openly said anything negative about the franchise that wants to replace him.

We needed stability at QB and Alex came in and provided that. Took us from perennial losers to a winning franchise, playoff births 4 out of 5 years as a starter. It was time to change hands because he couldn’t get us further than the divisional round. He did his job as a game manager and we got what I believe to be the very best out of him you can get. Because of that I donated $11.

On to the Mahomes era!
