Stanced cars...love 'em or hate 'em?

So what is CP's general opinion about stanced cars? Saw my first well executed one in person today and ......(well I will put my opinion in a post)

So what say you gear heads of CP?

Examples of well executed cars below (there are tons of terrible ones. feel free to post them in the thread)

In the 50s, they "lowered" or "Dagoed" (front end low, back end high) them, and I did that to my 57 Fury in the mid 60s.

Then in the 60s, to emulate the "gassers" and "funny cars" at the drag strip, we "jacked" them, usually with the front higher than the rear.

I was poor, and remember putting a piece of 2x4 between the rear end and frame before I could swing a set of "air shocks" for the back of my 64 Barracuda. I cranked the torsion bars all the way up, and the car rode like crap .
It was also cool to paint the wheel wells and running gear white, with little light bulbs up in there to show it off at night.

Then in the 80s, it started to become cool to "slam" them and that is what I would call most of these pictures, SLAMMED. I had my 10 second Barracuda slammed as much as possible, and still have the ladder bars work.

Fun stuff, and I know some of these cars have air ride suspensions so they can raise them up when they are going to actually go some place.
Stanced is their self description. I wouldn't say lowering or altering the car's stance alone makes a stanced car. These guys are intentionally creating the obscene camber

Don't like it, the camber just looks like a bad idea. I don't mind a car being lowered, but I absolutely detest tires/wheels outside of the body.

Lol, you guys do realize that these cars don't actually drive like that, right?

They're bagged. It's not physically possible for these cars to actually drive that low. They would tear their fenders to shreds the moment they tried to turn the wheel.

I love that the vanity plate on the Audi reads "FAPWGN"

No a lot if not most aren't. They run coilovers and altered control arms most of the time.

Seems like a lame ass way to do it. I don't mind the slammed look, but every car i've seen that was slammed, was also bagged. They would drop the cars to the ground for photoshoots and shows, and then raise them up when it was actually time to move them.

The Nissan's camber is ridiculous. What does that do to the tires to drive like that?

Yea, I don't mind bagged cars at all. The whole "stanced" movement can get bent.

I would imagine they are replacing tires about every 6-7k miles. Too much camber chews through tires.

I had a bent control arm on a car. Chewed through a brand new set of tires in 4-6 months.

Ok, then that makes it even more stupid. I thought they were just taking short cuts and being cheap.
They are just rollin on the inside of the tire and that thing probably acts pretty unsafe in a corner on dry pavement.

A few years ago, a kid came into a buddies shop with some kind of Honda set up like that, and he was having premature wheel bearing failures.

I said, well Duh, I wonder why that would be?

My SRT Struts and Springs came off of a brand new SRT-8 Challenger, that the guy put air bags on, so he could slam it.
