Why are we stuck in QB purgatory?

Rivers had his time with SD and competed for super bowls

Manning competed for SBs with Donkos

Raiders have an up-and-coming qb who threw for 32 touchdowns and almost 4k yards; more than doubling their win total from last year.

Meanwhile we pay a quarterback a million dollars per game to throw for 1 td per game.

Not that the Patriots CAN'T lose, especially since it's in Denver, but I do think they should win. Same if the Chiefs had won.

Can't see Denver giving the NFC Champ much of a game in the SB. if Pats win, I think it's a competitive SB and a coin toss for who wins (depending on health of key players, etc. etc.)

Yeah, the science pretty much shows there was no deflation, and the rest is pathetic bullshit, but whatever.

I can't disagree with what you're saying in regards to the Pats having a better shot at defeating either AZ or CAR in the SB. But, I'll take my chances and be content with whatever happens should Denver defeat the Patriots this weekend.

It won't be an easy win by any means, esp with Julian back in the mix. Denver has been too average and lackluster the last many games to give me much hope. I have to put all my eggs in the "defense has to play lights out and the offense can't turn it over" basket.

I think the game this weekend will be close, but I'm not getting too overly optimistic at this point. Just hoping for a good game and maybe... they get a bit less predictable. The drops are so incredibly frustrating.

We wouldn't have the same ole shit again if teams could not have injury problems. Ours killed is yesterday. Pitt would have won if Brown had played. Cinci would have taken out NE or Denver if Dalton had played. Donkeys and Pats are the only two left healthy enough to win.

Football will be so much better when Manning and Brady are gone. They are over hyped and over exposed. Constantly having their bung holes licked by the media. Manning is done after this year or at least may as well be. Brady probably will go two more until he totally declined. 39 in Aug then 40 in 2017 will probably be it.

I'm sure the network folks are just about to wet their britches over this matchup and Goodell is just happy to mop up all of it. I'm not saying that Brady and Manning aren't great QBs, I'm just sick of hearing about it.
I'm not fan of yankee-sumbitches, but I hope NE knocks the tar out of Manning and makes him look about as bad as we did.

The Broncos beat them 2 years ago in the playoffs.

Of course, Manning was a lot better then....

Parity!
I think we have discussed this before but MLB offers the most true parity right now of any pro sport.

The NFL might be the sport that is the most skewed and dependent on one single position. QB

But that's how they want it. The defenses are at such a disadvantage compared to 20-30 years ago.

Manning WAS great. His play is FAR from it now. Brady still is great. The Donx had a LOT of help "beating" the Pats a few weeks ago and NE was missing key players. I bet they curb stomp the Donx now that they're healthy. That is, of course, if the refs call a fair game this time around.

My perfect scenario would be that the Donx get totally pummeled at home, in front of all their elitist "true" fans, with Horse Face looking on from the booth, and New England's plane crashes on the flight home.

Drops are maddening. Pats had several on Saturday also, but Denver looked worse. I didn't see all of that game, but I saw some amazingly terrible drops. I think Denver CAN win, but their margin for error is smaller than the Patriots'.

NERD NOTES: Tom Brady (3) has more Pass TD in Denver this season than Peyton Manning (1)... in 5 fewer games!

Brady is 2-6 in Denver... neither of these QBs has beaten the other on the road in the playoffs and I believe Manning has won the last two.

That's all I got. The defense has to play lights out.
