Elway's son arrested on Domestic Violence charges

John Elway's Son Jack Arrested: Latest Details and Updates By R. Cory Smith , Featured Columnist Jun 1, 2014 Jack Elway, the son of two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and current Denver Broncos general manager John Elway, was arrested over the weekend for a domestic violence incident that occurred on Friday. Raquel Villanueva of KUSA provides details of the report: According to court records, Jack Elway faces disturbing the peace and assault charges for the incident that occurred on Colfax Avenue and North Lipan Street. He was bonded out by his father. The bond was set at $550. According to Villanueva, "a protection order was issued for the victim" as well. Brian Maass of CBS4 also gives some information on the situation: Sources familiar with the case say that in the last several days, Elway, who goes by the nickname ‘Jack,’ allegedly pushed a 23-year-old woman out of a moving car near the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Lipan Street. It’s unclear the extent of the woman’s injuries but one source familiar with the case told CBS4 the woman had no visible injuries. Court records show the incident took place Friday. ... It’s unclear how long Elway was in jail before being released. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Elway is scheduled to appear in court again June 5 at 8:30 a.m. Mike Klis of the Denver Post has more details: Jack, 24, is a former player at Arizona State. He never materialized with the Sun Devils and ultimately quit the team in 2009 after being one of five quarterbacks in the mix for the starting job. The elder Elway spoke about his son's decision at the time, per ESPN.com: "He sounds better. Just talking to him, it's like the world has been lifted off his shoulders. So I'm happy for him." Paul Sancya/Associated Press Unfortunately, he is now in legal trouble that could hurt his reputation. In addition, any negative news such as this will inevitably bring his father into the spotlight due to John Elway's status around the NFL. Patrick Smyth, who is the director of media relations for the Broncos, addressed the situation but acknowledged the team would not speak any further on it, per Villanueva: "This is a personal family matter and the Broncos will not have any additional comment on it." Whether this situation will reflect negatively on the elder Elway in any way is unclear. While Jack doesn't have a history of legal issues, any arrest will be magnified due to the popularity of his father. The specifics of the current charges aren't fully clear at this time but could come to light in the near future. |

(To the tune of The Monkeys)
Here we come in the Bowl we get beat, the only way that we can win is to f***ing cheat... Hey hay we're the Dung-keys our execs get drunk and drive around, if we didn't have Peyton we'd be no better than the Browns. Our gm has a horse face, and his son likes to beat up chicks, and our whole fan base eats big bags of dicks. Hey hey we're the Dung-keys And btw. The Dung-keys haven't drafted any good qbs outside of Cutler EVER. Elway refused to go to Baltimore so went to Denver via trade. So you might wanna pipe down with your amazing qb drafting skills! |

This is all just a big misunderstanding. He simply turned to say something to her, at which time she collided with his teeth and was ejected from the car.

John Elway's son gets probation in domestic violence case
Jack Elway, the son of Broncos executive vice president of football operations and general manager John Elway, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation in the domestic violence case against him. John Elway III, 24, was charged with disturbing the peace and assault in what police described as a violent fight with his girlfriend in May. Elway ripped out pieces of the woman's hair when he pulled her out of his car and pushed her to the ground, according to a probable cause statement. As part of a plea agreement, Elway pleaded guilty to the disturbing the peace charge and the Denver City Attorney's Office dropped the assault charge, according to court records. Elway was sentenced to one year of probation as part of a deferred judgment. If he completes the year without any incidents Elway will be allowed to withdraw his guilty plea and the case will be dismissed. The plea agreement was entered in Denver County Court on Tuesday. Elway was scheduled to go to trial on the charges on Sept. 22. Denver County Judge Johnny Barajas accepted the plea agreement. He also ordered Elway to pay fines and court costs and attend domestic violence counseling. Elway cannot have contact with the victim. Elway was arrested at his father's Cherry Hills Village home on May 31. He later posted a $550 bond. http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_26...-violence-case |
