This. It was an interesting and probably a fairly realistic approximation of what to expect if something like this (or any other widespread disaster) happens. The audio book narrator is somewhat emo and does a really bad impression for all of the female character voices.

TL;DR - Cessation of emergency services and lack of electronic communication causes a widespread panic. People in cities will be the worst off. Anyone needing daily medication (diabetics) or special care is boned.

Heh, I finished this a few months ago. Pretty realistic.

Lumpy and I would be ok.
She can shoot, I have plenty of ammo and I have the resources available to reload shotgun shells, handgun rounds and several different rifle rounds.
I own 4 compound bows, (well, one is Lumpy's) one crossbow that is deadly out to 55 and 50+ firearms.

I have a 30 day plan, 180 day plan and an extended (2+ years) plan.

I know excellent hunting grounds all over NE and my family owns property in the boonies where game is plentiful and we have excellent relationships with the landowners in the area.
