I'm gonna say no

BUT if Alex Smith plays the way he did against the Pats, then yes we are the best team in the AFC because as he proved we're capable of beating anybody with excellent QB play

Big "if" though. I think this year may be different because of our QB situation. It's good we drafted a QB not only for the future but to motivate Alex Smith to play better. Maybe this is the year as Chiefs fans we get to see the best of Alex Smith?

But I will say that I do feel confident that the Chiefs will win the division and now that they beat the Pats, they have a good chance at breaking that tie breaker for a 1st round bye and possibly locking up home field advantage. I think the Chiefs could do that this year. This team needs homefield imo.

KC looked damn good on TNF... but, let's get through a 1/4 of the season before you book hotel rooms for the SB. This place is much more fun though when they win though, so carry on - it was a solid performance.

Health and Cohesion are still much more important than individual skills, certainly more than individual games.

Last Thursday was both the best [O clicking] and worst [Urc Burry] on those fronts.

I think if Alex Smith can play consistently like that all year, the only team that has a shot at us are the Patriots in the AFC ***IF*** both Gronk and Hightower stay healthy.

I think there are 3-4 teams in the NFC that could give us a tough game, but the AFC is much weaker.

Yes, they are the best. If you watched all the games yesterday you'd see a ton of teams that aren't nearly as complete and humming as KC.

Pittsburgh is right up there, though. Haley is really really really ****ing good at what he does. A la Reid, he schemes Antonio Brown wide open at least once a game.

Week 1 only tells us who is most ready to start.

The Pats aren't this bad and will be much better in the playoffs.

Ditto for Pitt.

Cinci, KC, Raiders, Chargers, etc. will only find out after time...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
