If the Eagles do manage to win the Super Bowl with Foles what would you do with him? Auction him off to the highest bidder? Just keep on keeping on and let him hit FA in 2019?

yes, same situation as any backup who comes in and puts up good numbers ie Osweiler (DEN), Trent Green (LA), Josh McCown (CHI), etc

Unless they're blown away by an offer, or if Nick Foles wants out, I'd hold onto him. The cap hit for both Foles and Wentz together is $14 million.

I think Foles is decent QB with a great arm, who's riding the hot hand at the moment.
Similar to Flacco's 2012 run. I still think he's just a backup quality QB. One of the better backups in the league for sure, but I wouldnt call him better than Alex Smith. I do however believe Pederson is responsible for their success in the playoffs meanwhile Andy Reid shits his pants. Chiefs let the wrong coach go. Reid is Marty v2.0

Nope. Pederson is the lucky/blessed one that he could bring in a QB that already knew his playbook so that IF Wentz went down 'and he did' that he could throw in a QB that didn't have to learn anything on the fly. Foles spent his first few games 'knocking the rust off'(hence his underwhelming play prior to yesterday) getting back into 'starting shape'. I have always loved Foles play from the get go. Not his fault his career severely stalled during his Rams tenure. Reid talked him out of retirement and the rest is history after yesterday. Foles has always been a legit starter in 'my football eyes'.

Reid may very well be Marty 2.0 i.e. to stalling out in the playoffs. Reid's biggest problem is he "overthinks his play calling" when the game is "tight" this is what I have observed over the years and why he abandons what has worked thinking something else can work even better when in reality it does not(e.g. Kareem Hunt disappearing in our losing streak). |
