Alex Smith did, does, and will always suck.

See...perfect example of what I mean. I pointed out that the team needs to get better. You absolutely ignored that and went right back Alex Smith.

If you want to be considered someone who can talk with overall FB knowledge quit getting fixated on one person on a team game....and especially this early in the season.

Thus far there is only one QB that has looked outstanding thus far this year...the rest are getting settled in.

I will give you this....you have gotten a little better, but you aren't as football-smart as you think you are.

As are the fans. "we're winning, all is fine!"

I'm not going to dwell on it this week because I enjoyed the win too much.

But this offense is not going to be a sustainable path to playoff football. Smith is not making good presnap reads. He's also clearly afraid to place a throw to the outside receivers. He has to be able to test the edges and not just rely on guys being open out of cuts. Defenses have 8 quarters worth of reasons to stack the box and crowd the middle of the field. They will continue to blitz with impunity if Alex is incapable of burning them for it.

Smith is a better QB than Cassel by miles, but what our offense is doing is not going to be a sustainable recipe for winning.

9.42 YPC so far.

Would have ranked dead last in the NFL last season.

was good enough... how many great WR plays do we see in other games that make the QB look good? Plenty. Avery made a nice play on it, and it was a good enough throw.

I know. And Ponder's 9.79 may have been the worst ever. Though I can't find any good stats on that.

Well, how about enough for week 2? Year 1 in the Harbaugh era, the Niners went 13-3 and were a couple of ST screw-ups away from the SB. Not exactly one and done.

You don't expect a Lombardi at the end of week 2, do you?

I don't expect a Lombardi with Alex Smith under center period.

Hence my issue with trading 2 2nd round picks for this ****ing chump.

I'll give Alice credit for game-managing his way to an ugly victory.

Super-Bowl material? Hardly.

Seriously. How many times could an Alex Smith offense convert on a 1st and 20 or 2nd and 16? 12 out 100 times?

That's what Alex does. Game manage his way to ugly victories. But last time I checked your team was losing before he got there. Now they are 2 - 0 with him. Not "pretty" enough for you? A win is a win bud. Winning is better than losing the last time I checked. And you will do a lot more of it with Alex Smith.
