The Bills are ****ing stupid. Period.

News flash. Bills aren't winning a super bowl behind Kyle Orton. Orton is a guy you start because you have no other options. He's not a guy you start because you're trying to make a push for a championship run. Unless the Bills think this will give Manuel more time and more confidence, but they should have made that decision in the beginning of the season, not 4 games in.

Young players need time to develop. That's especially true in this moronic new age of football where young players are handicapped by insanely dumb offseason training rules.

Maybe I have totally missed something, but I'm not getting the "Orton just wants to ride the bench for an easy check" sentiment.

The way I've always read his career is that he usually seems to do decent work for someone only to be passed over as quickly as possible for the next big thing... the guy wants to be someones ace and has bounced from team to team looking for that.

He's in the right spot for that at the moment.

Maybe we didn't need those players in the world where you are the GM. But we're not in win now mode. We're looking to save money in areas, and replace aging players. Pretty clever concept but I don't expect you to grasp it. But yeah we shoulda drafted Geno, or Manuel, or Barkley.... Good call!

I think it came from him not wanting to sign here and maybe end up the starter, and instead taking the backup role in Dallas.

It's a strange story. It really seemed like he took the backup role in Dallas, but also took it for less money. I feel like he's had several opportunities to pick a team where he can start for about the same amount of money or more.

I remember everyone making fun of the deal Dallas gave him. Just checked and he got a 5 million dollar signing bonus and made 6 million total in year one of the deal. That's pretty crazy for a guy who wasn't expected to play. Granted, he just forced his way out of that deal so he either wanted more money again or the chance to play. Looks like he got both

Probably why you don't see a lot of deals where the player gets 50% of the total in a signing bonus up front.

The AFC east is a mess and the Bills realize it is legitmately up for grabs.

The Jets have a GM and coach who don't like each other. The Jets are something like 20 mil under the cap. Upper management did its best to make Rex's life miserable and impossible.

The Patriots have OL problems and for years have thought they can out-coach opponents. The days of trotting no name receivers out to save the day are over.

The Dolphins are inconsistent and below average.

That's what Buffalo sees and will try to take advantage of.
