Brit Floyd
Caught these guys last night. If you are a Floyd fan, check them out for sure. I am and it's the best I've seen. 3 hour show with an intermission. Here's a couple of short vids I took:

Heck, I'd argue that their opening act - Led Zeppelin 2 - was better. They were great. Easy to suspend belief. Great show overall though. And again, IMO. |

I totally understand having this kind of show. It looks fun even though I'm not really into Pink Floyd. What I dont understand is tribute bands who are of bands that still tour. Like a Bon Jovi tribute band, why?? The real actual band still tours. I just don't understand that.

Besides a one-off Live 8 show, PF has been broken up since when? 1983'ish??? You can catch Roger Waters doing his thing, or a quick unusual David Gilmore show somewhere in the EU... |

Yeah I didn't mean any of the Floyd tribute bands. Just some of the ones that still tour. I'd go see the Floyd one if my wife wanted to go.

As an aside, the Floyd is probably my all-time favorite band, but I've had nothing but bad luck when it comes to seeing them live in any incarnation. First, I'm too young to have seen them in their prime, which for me would be 1970-1972. My first opportunity to see them was the 1994 Division Bell tour that came to Arrowhead. I was 17 years old and the night before tickets went on sale, I wrecked my mom's car. So I had to pay for that instead of the tickets. Then in '06, when Gilmour and Wright toured together, I was unable to go because I was acting as a caregiver for a loved one that was in the midst of some severe health issues. So when Gilmour announced another tour this year and next, I made sure that i was able to get some good seats in Chicago, which I have in my possession. Two weeks after I got the tickets we find out that we are preggo with our second kid and the due date is 5 days before the show. So while I'm thrilled to be having another child, it looks like I'll never fulfill one of my biggest bucket list items. |
