The annual "King of the N00bs" crowning has a new leader
It is time for someone else to take the annual "King of the n00bs" crowning and nomination to the next level. After 9 years, I've passed the leadership role to PGM. He will come up with a new format and process.

PGM has done a damn good job with the roasts. I'm sure he will knock this one out of the park

It's whatever PGM decides. He has total autonomy. I think the "King of the N00bs" on here is a part of the Planet now. It has a lot of off season entertainment value. It does shine a spotlight on worthy n00bs. It just needs to be reformatted.

If after its all done and the n00b crowned. If the community likes the new format, it's his until he retires. If he ****s it up, we can give someone else a chance to do better the next year.

PGM has my trust that he will create his own entertaining fresh spin on how someone becomes the 10th King of the N00bs. We should trust him. He does have a good track record with the roasts.

Seriously? Some of the butt-hurt that you'll see in some of these contests are actually real? Honest question.

A couple days ago, the "King of the n00bs" stuff was brought up in the Top 101 Posters thread and I made a comment about how during my n00b year, I wasn't nominated or even mentioned...and followed this by posting 3 different "crying" gifs. I was being 100% sarcastic... I followed the n00b of the year thread during my n00b year, but I didn't actually give a shit that I was apparently invisible during that time.

Sometimes when it becomes clear to me that the butt-hurt and/or desire to win or be commended in some of these popularity contests is actually legit, it kind of prompts me to think a bit harder about who I am interfacing with on here.

Yes. When the contest starts its very real to some. They want it to be a fair contest. Their guy to win. People are just competitive, especially alpha males. We have a lot of those on here. I'm a competitive SOB. I can't play board games without trying to win. It never really bothered me after the first year. They were mainly great posters on here. They just hate losing like me. Doesn't matter if its real life or it matters, they just want to win and crush the other guy.

Yeah, I didn't care at all. It wasn't personal, it was just the insignificance and lack of influence that I was aware that I possessed at the time. Took me a while to get in a groove here. For the first year and a half or so, I felt like I was talking to myself. Still kind of do, sometimes.
