Orange Chicken with some of that fried rice stuff and egg roll stuff.

I don't get the hate for Panda Express. It's really good for what it is. American-Chinese fast food. The ingredients are always fresh. They're generous with quantity. They use red bell peppers(huge plus for me). I've never really been disappointed. Sweetfire chicken or Beijing Beef is usually my go-to.

I remember being poor in LA in the 90’s, when the nearest Panda Express was located just up Santa Monica Blvd. inside a Pavillions grocery store.

I’d usually “treat myself” on Friday’s by stopping at Panda and getting a 2 item meal, which at the time, was $4.49.

These days, it’s exactly as you stated: A typical stop at Panda for a family of four is easily $35 dollars, if not $40.

I don’t consider that “Poverty Food”.

Funny they used to be inside Kroger, here - then they 'now' are mostly free-standing. There's one (ironically) neighboring a GNC Health store - only those two places and a Chase bank in the same strip mall.

It's the McDonald's of Chinese food. I eat there once/twice a week because there's one at the nearest food court, its reasonably priced, the food is okay, and the line tends to move quickly.

Sure wish there was a decent sit down Chinese place in the area, though. You'd think there would be one in the middle of the Chicago Loop, but there aren't.

yes it's convenient for me too - I like Chopsticks & Wok better but it's too hard to get in and out of there.

Poverty Chinese in LA is Dollar Bowl, ate my share of that crap while living out there... it was tasty enough for a starving artist like myself

Just glad I never got a look back in the kitchen...
