Spencer Ware's potential impact
Ware and this new power running game makes us a team that nobody wants coming into their house come playoff time. He's still very fresh and is going to make defenders think twice about tackling him in the 4th quarter in the cold. His potential impact is through the roof. What's stopping this team from a deep playoff run if this young RB keeps this up?

One thing West does that aware can't is something Andy loves: screens. West is faster and has better hands.

Ware is just a bruiser with nice play speed.

Would love to keep both

I stated many times when Andy came here-that the Chiefs should be a Power running team first -passing team second. But Andy was determined to make the Chiefs the Greatest Show on Turf 2 - minus excellent receivers and a HOF type QB.

This recalcitrant attitude let teams key on our passing attack, put extra pressure when we did run it and made us an ineffective, one-dimensional offense.

Now teams have to respect our running game. It has opened up some nice passing lanes for Alex and also given him more time to check different options.

More passes downfield instead of a poor horizontal passing attack.

I have no idea.

Maybe Reid really did change the play calling system 5 weeks ago and the injury to Charles was just a painful coincidence.

imo our offense would be much improved if Reid dumped 90% of all the screens(RB,TE,WR) and just ran the ball more and use play-action passes instead.

I'm for giving Ware the ball.

Dude has averaged 100 yards, and a TD in the past two games.

Just keep giving him the ball and pound that sh*t down the other teams throats. Dudes a bruiser, good north-south runner, pretty good at making cutbacks, is agile and one of those guys that takes 3,4 guys to bring him down. He's like a baby LJ except with a better attitude.

I'm all for giving him the ball. I want the dude to build confidence and be the best he could be. Use West on more on screen passes and use Ware for north-south. That's what the Chiefs need to do.

This X10. We should've had a balanced finesse/power running attack with Charles/Ware all season. To think of the possibilities. While admiring Ware's success one can't ignore the ignorance on the part of AR that led to his opportunity. Play action/throwing downfield/balanced run attack/stout defense. This isn't rocket science.

Dude played some FB in college IIRC. Imagine him blocking for Charles on some plays.

dink-dunk, trick the defense

imo the offense would be better with less finesse and more aggression

Reid is so intent on stretching the defense laterally that he forgets to stretch it vertically. Not running Kelce down the seams constantly throughout a game is borderline negligent.

Pound Ware up the middle then play-action pass to Kelce down one seam and Maclin down the opposite sideline. Force the safety to chose which guy to double, Alex Smith reads the safety and goes the opposite way.

Marty Schottenheimer was all about no surprises, just power and winning by sheer will
Andy Reid is all about finesse and tricking his way through
