And so that time of year is here, when hopes are fresh and not yet dashed, where rosters have not been set (aww, who are we kidding?) and the sting or glory of the previous season begins to fade with the anticipation of the season ahead. It's preseason football time and that means we get to see the offense run vanilla plays with the occasional chocolate chip or sprinkle tossed in, starters half-ass it and try not to get hurt for the handful of plays they will see, where the scrubs try to suck less than the others for coveted spots on special teams or the practice squad, and once in a while someone bumps a number 2 guy down a peg. The team will either look ready to play a season of real football or show that they are in the running for the top pick in the next draft. But, once the regular season gets underway, these games will quickly be forgotten along with the names of the guys who are cut. Who was that one guy who wore number 99 next to that other guy with 99 on his jersey? Nobody knows! It's the preseason and how that makes the end of August drag on and on into the first of September. Are you ready, Chiefs fans?

Good start Ed! Hope all is well with you.

I'm going to avoid this thread at game time and wait for the re-air at 3am EST. I'm looking forward to the game. Personally, I wouldn't play JC. I'd let DJ and DeVito go hit some guys then pull them. Let Berry get his taste, kick the dust off and come out. I want Alex and this offense to get some reps however. I want to see them take at least one deep shot to a WR. Putting some deep passes on tape this preseason will at least show teams well do it.
